Make the best use of your 1g mailbox

When Google published a message about Gmail in April 1 this year, many Internet users just used it as a joke of the fool's day. Who knows if you do not have your own 1g mailbox today, I am afraid it will be seen by others as a visitor in ancient times. Some precognition friends have their own Gmail in various ways (most of them are offered by friends ), yahoo's 1 GB mailbox is almost a free gift at the cost of having an Yahoo account. Sina and Netease in China also threw out their respective 1 GB mailbox resizing plans, maybe 1g mailbox will start to flood.

When you have a mailbox with such a huge capacity, do you consider making full use of the 1g mailbox function? Below, I will take Gmail and Yahoo's 1g mailbox as an example to describe:

1. Transform your Gmail into a local drive

To transform your Gmail into a local drive, you need to install a software named "Gmail drive" that allows us to directly use Gmail mailbox as a local drive, currently, the latest version is 1.0.0, please go to your Drive (see figure 1 ).

1. log on to Gmail Drive

However, we are not able to use this local drive now. Before the operation, you must log on to Gmail. After double-clicking it, a dialog box is displayed, where you can enter the Gmail user name and password, wait a few seconds to log on successfully. If you select the "Auto Login" check box, you can log on automatically next time. Of course, this check box is selected.

2. upload and download files

Next, we can upload files to Gmail Drive. for management purposes, we recommend that you right-click the "New → Folder" command in the menu to create the corresponding Folder (drag it directly ), please use English characters as the file name, and the length cannot exceed 40 characters. It is very easy to upload files, go to the corresponding folder and select the "Paste" command or drag it directly from the resource manager. Note that the "Gmail Drive Properties" dialog box displays the corresponding disk properties (see figure 2) only after a folder is created or a file is uploaded ).

When you need to download an object, select the corresponding file and drag it directly to the corresponding path. You can also right-click the file and execute the command in the menu to execute the operation. In fact, The Gmail drive software treats the files we uploaded as corresponding emails for processing. Therefore, if too many files are uploaded, I am afraid it is inconvenient to search for emails. At this time, you can use tags for management, because the subject of all emails is marked with "GMAILFS", as long as the tag is set to "GMAILFS", it will be automatically transferred to the corresponding folder when new files are uploaded.

2. Convert Yahoo Mail to an FTP server

Mr. Zhang biqiong, working at Neusoft group, developed a software named "BQYAHOO", which allows us to use our Yahoo Mail as an FTP server, whether it is shared or downloaded, it is much more convenient. Please refer.

1. Add a new mailbox

Before using it, we need to add the corresponding Yahoo Mail. Run "Encode" from the "Tools" menu, as shown in 3. Enter the user name and password of your Yahoo Mail to generate a logon code, A logon code consists of up to 160 characters including uppercase letters and numbers. copy and paste the logon code to the corresponding location in the Add mailbox dialog box, the download code is provided by the uploader.

Next, you can follow the same steps to add a new mailbox, which is not described here. After the mailbox is successfully added, select "Logon> logon option" to log on to the corresponding mailbox.

2. upload files

Because BQYAHOO can only Upload folders, We must transfer the files to be uploaded to a specific folder and then execute the "tool> Upload" command, enter the user name and download code of Yahoo Mail (which can be entered freely). First, a description file in XML format is generated in the shared folder, which describes the attributes of the uploaded file, then, click "Send email". BQYAHOO will automatically call Microsoft Outlook to send the files to be uploaded one by one as email attachments, and send several emails as few files.

It must be noted that Microsoft Outlook must be set as the system's default mail client program.

3. Download an object

Double-click a mailbox in the left-side pane of the BQYAHOO main interface. After Successful Logon, the corresponding file list is displayed in the right pane. Double-click a file to download it to the local computer, these Download files will be saved to the Download directory of the BQYAHOO installation folder.

When downloading an object, you must provide the correct logon and download codes. You can obtain the correct logon and download codes from the object Uploader via QQ, MSN Messenger, or email. If a download code is not provided when you add a new email address, an error occurs during logon. obtain it from the uploaded file.

The advantage of BQYAHOO is to transfer shared files. After uploading, you only need to tell your friends the logon code and the corresponding download code so that they can download the files they need, you do not need to enable QQ or MSN Messenger all day long. Note that when uploading files, if the size of each file exceeds the 10 MB size limit of Yahoo mail attachments, select the "split large file" option, otherwise, the file cannot be uploaded correctly.
