In the office, maybe you have just left your computer, and someone else starts to "peek" your computer. Although the Screen Saver with a password can avoid such security threats to a certain extent, the screen saver can be started only after a certain period of time. To this end, this article specifically recommends a WinGuard Pro 2005 tool. With this tool, you can lock important program windows as you like and encrypt privacy information, other users can also be authorized for access.
Installation and Interface
Double-click the installer obtained from the Internet to bring up the Standard Program Installation Wizard interface. Follow the prompts to click the "Next" button several times to install the WinGuard Pro 2005 tool. After the installation is complete, the WinGuard Pro 2005 program is automatically started by default and is returned to the system background for "Silently" service. Of course, to make the service more targeted, you need to set the program. When setting parameters, you can right-click the corresponding program control icon in the system tray area and choose "Setup..." from the shortcut menu ......" Command to open the logon Prompt window shown in 1. Obviously, this window is designed to prevent unauthorized users from modifying security settings at will. Enter the default logon password "letmein" for the program, and click "OK" to go to the security control interface shown in figure 2.
Change security control password
Because the default login password of the program is "letmein", to prevent other people from entering the security control window through the default password for illegal settings, you must change the login password in time, in order to keep the security control of the program in your own hands. When changing the security control Password, you only need to click the "Set Setup Tool Password" button in the Security Control Interface shown in Figure 2. In the subsequent Password setting window, enter the new password twice and click "OK. Of course, you can also Set an unlock password for the target content here. Just click the "Set locked items password" button and enter a new password, click "OK.
To prevent others from knowing that you have taken control of the system, you can select the "Disable Tray Icon" option in the Security Control Interface shown in figure 2, click the "Apply" button to hide the WinGuard Pro 2005 program control icon in the system tray area.
Assign User Permissions
To prevent unauthorized installation of large-capacity software programs or games on public computers by other users, resulting in lower overall system performance, you can assign appropriate permissions to these unauthorized users; when assigning the permission, you can click the "Extra locks" tab. On the tag page shown in 3, you can see the windows Locks and Internet Explorer Locks settings. With these two settings, you can assign different permissions to unauthorized users.
For example, to prohibit colleagues from installing programs or Software on a public computer, you can select the "Lock Software Installation" option in the Windows Locks Settings area, in this way, when a colleague installs a program on the computer in the future, it will be "REJECTED" by The WinGuard Pro 2005 program ". If you want to resume the Installation permission of the same program in the future, you must go to the security control interface and deselect the "Lock Software Installation" option. Similarly, if you do not want others to browse the Web page on a public computer, you can select the "Browser" option in the "Internet Explorer Locks" setting area, if you want to prohibit users from downloading files or programs from the Internet, you can select the "Downloads" option. If you want to temporarily lock the computer system, you can select the "My computer" option.
It is worth noting that the WinGuard Pro 2005 program provides us with different security protection levels. If a security option is followed by, this indicates that the security protection level is higher than that of "normal". If a security option is followed by two "*", this indicates that the security setting takes effect, the password input prompt page is not displayed, but the operation is disabled directly. To cancel this operation in the future, you must enter the WinGuard Pro 2005 program for proper settings.
Restrict browsing content on the Internet
Some websites often contain a variety of virus code. Once these websites are accessed, the web host will be able to be infected with the virus without knowing it. To prevent other users from browsing the content of these websites at will during work, WinGuard Pro 2005 provides webpage content shielding function.
When using this function to restrict Content browsing on the Internet, you can click the "Web Content Locks" tag. On the tag page displayed in 4, click the "Add" button, enter the specific content to be blocked in the filter keyword setting box that appears later. For example, to shield pornographic website content, you can click the keyword setting box shown in Figure 4, enter the keyword "sex" and click "OK". All website content with the keyword "sex" will be protected by passwords. When you visit these pornographic websites in the future, the browser will automatically prompt you to enter the access password. If you do not know the password, the specific content of these sites will not be browsed. If you want to block other access content, you can click the "Add" button and enter other appropriate keywords. The WinGuard Pro 2005 program can filter multiple keywords at the same time. Considering that the WinGuard Pro 2005 program does not filter Chinese keywords very well, I suggest you try your best to use English keywords.
Encrypt private content
If you do not encrypt your folder, the privacy information may be easily browsed by other colleagues at any time, so you can encrypt the folder in time, is the easiest and most direct way to protect your privacy. When encrypting the private Folder, you can click the "File & Folder Locks" tag in the WinGuard Pro 2005 program interface, and on the tag page shown in 5, click the Browse button. In the displayed folder selection dialog box, select and import your private folder. Then, click the "Set Password" button on the tab page, in the pop-up password settings window, enter the encrypted password twice and click the "Encrypt" button. It will take a long time for the target private folder to be encrypted. At this time, you will find that all the file names in the target privacy folder are automatically added to the "*. lok suffix. When you double-click any of the files with the mouse, the system will prompt you that the current file cannot be accessed.
If you want to view the encrypted file, right-click the target private file and choose Encrypt or Decrypt from the shortcut menu, in the subsequent password unlock settings window, enter the previously set encryption password and click "OK" to unlock the target private file, in the future, you will be able to access the specific content in the private file according to the conventional method.
If you want to Encrypt a single file, right-click the target private file and execute the "Encrypt or Decrypt" command in the shortcut menu, in the subsequent encryption settings window, enter the encryption password and click "OK.
Restrict the use of applications
To prevent others from using QQ and MSN programs for online chat during work, you can use the WinGuard Pro 2005 application restriction function to prohibit them from using these applications at will.
When limiting a target application, you can click the "Program Locks" label on the WinGuard Pro 2005 interface. On the tab page shown in 6, click the "Add" button, in the settings window that appears later, enter the name of the application title to be restricted. For example, to restrict the use of QQ applications, you can enter the keyword "QQ" in the preceding setting box, click "OK", return to the tag page shown in figure 6, and click "Apply, the program will automatically pop up a password input window. After you repeat the two access passwords, the QQ application will be restricted. When other users access the QQ application in the future, the system will ask you to enter the access password. If you cannot enter the access password correctly, the user will naturally be unable to use the QQ application. Of course, if you want to remove the restriction on an application, you can directly select the title name of the target application on the tab page shown in figure 6, click the "Remove" button.
Considering that many application title packages are case-sensitive and some titles have long names, if you enter the application title name manually, it is easy to enter an error. For this reason, I suggest that you first start the application before limiting an application, and then directly select the application and import it to the WinGuard Pro 2005 program.
