We all know that when using Photoshop to process an image, you can select parts of the image in a variety of ways, such as using a magic wand tool to select the same or similar color, and use a lasso or pen tool to select a more visible part of the image. But if you choose some of the more complex content, such as hair, they seem to be a little "powerless." Then you need to use Photoshop "extract" function. The extraction feature retains the portion of the image to be extracted, and the rest is made transparent, so let's take a specific look at the extraction process:
Looking for a blonde photo to open in Photoshop, our aim is to extract her blond hair. Double-click the "background" layer in the Layers panel and click "OK" without setting any settings in the dialog box that appears, canceling the lock status of the layer.
Tip: When the Photoshop extract command is executed, only the extracted content is retained and the other parts become transparent. To preserve the original image, you must drag the layer onto the new Layer button below the panel, duplicate a copy layer on the original layer, and manipulate the copy layer.
After selecting the replica layer, perform the image/extract command. Pop-up "extraction" dialog box, the left side of the dialog box is eight tool buttons, you can make different extraction operations, the middle part is the editing preview area, you can show the image extraction and operation of the effect before and after, and the right is the three image Settings area, Used primarily to set parameters in the extraction process.
1, click on the Left tool button in the Edge Highlight Tool button, and then to the right of the "tool options" Settings area to set, where you can set the "brush" size, edge highlighting color, fill color and so on.
Figure 1 marks the part to be extracted
Tip: "Highlight color", "Fill Color" Selected color and extract the object is not much contact, they are only in order to use a special color to mark the area of the action object, for no special reasons, generally keep the default value can be.
2, using the "Edge highlighting tool" in the image drag the left mouse button, select the need to extract the "Blonde" section, just set the highlight color as a marker (Figure 1).
Tips: (1) After dragging the mouse does not appear in the surrounding highlighting, you should check the "Preview" Settings area to select the "Show highlighting" checkbox;
(2) in the process of dragging the mouse, the value of "brush size" should be adjusted constantly to meet different needs and achieve the best effect of image extraction;
(3) If you drag the area of the mouse is too large, you can click the tool button in the "Eraser tool" to erase the highlight edge and then draw;
(4) Drag the mouse to get the highlight edge must be closed, otherwise the following fill operation will appear errors.
3, click the "Fill Tool", in the selected part of the image of the mouse, the objects in the marquee are filled with translucent "blue" (the color is determined by the "Fill Color" you just set), and then the Preview button on the right shows the extracted effect (Figure 2).

4, click the tool button in the "Clear tool" and "border rendering tool" to optimize the extraction of objects, mainly to make the edges smooth and remove redundant parts.
5, click the "OK" button, OK! Now you may as well choose a picture of yourself, try to put the extracted blond hair on the head, to see how they become blondes, hehe (^_^).
