Malicious program GODLESS exploitation of system vulnerabilities root device
Trend Micro reported a new mobile malware family called GODLESS. It used the root device of Android 5.1 and earlier versions, and installed hard-to-delete malicious system applications on the device. Android 5.1 and earlier versions account for of the total Android ecosystem. Malicious applications containing GODLESS Code appear in many app stores, including Google Play. GODLESS is infected with 0.85 million devices worldwide. Once a user downloads a malicious application, the malicious program will wait until the device screen is closed before it starts to run the quietly root device. After the root program is installed, the system application named _ image will be installed. Researchers found that the app named Summer Flashlight in the Google Play store contains malicious GODLESS code. The application has been removed.
