RPCBIND (8) BSD System Manager's Manual RPCBIND (8) NAME rpcbind-General address and RCP program number (RPC program number) the SYNOPSIS rpcbind [-adhiLls] DESCRIPTION rpcbind tool can convert RPC program numbers and common addresses. To enable a host to initiate an RPC call to the remote host service, the rpcbind on the host must be in the running state. When the RPC service is started, it will tell rpcbind the address on which it listens, and the PRC program number prepared for the service. When the client initiates an RPC call to a given program number, it first contacts the server's rpcbind to determine the address to which the RPC request should be sent. The rpcbind tool should be started before all RPC services are started. Generally, the standard rpc service is started by the port monitor. Therefore, the rpcbind must be started before the port monitor is called. After the rpcbind tool is started, it checks whether the calling function of the specific name-to-address conversion function is correctly executed. If the network configuration database is deemed to have expired, rpcbind will lose the information and terminate the operation because the RPC-managed service cannot run correctly in this case. The rpcbind tool can only be started by super-user. OPTIONS-a is forced to interrupt when an error occurs in debug mode. -D run the debugging mode. In this mode, rpcbind records additional information. If the "-a" option is specified, some errors are interrupted. With this option, the consistency of name-to-address conversion will be continuously detected and relevant information will be logged in detail. -F does not perform fork and runs in the background. -H specifies the specific IP address bound to the UDP request. This option can be specified multiple times. In a multi-host (multi-homed is a host with multiple network interfaces), this option is usually required. If the "-h" option is not specified, rpcbind will be bound to INADDR_ANY, which will cause an error When rpcbind on multiple hosts returns a UDP response packet from the address received by a non-UDP packet. Note: When "-h" is used to specify an IP address, rpcbind automatically adds 127.0.0.1 to the list. If IPv6 is enabled, the following parameters are added: 1. -I runs in Insecure mode. Run to call SET and UNSET from any host. Generally, for security reasons, rpcbind only receives requests from the loopback interface. This option is required to be compatible with versions that earlier do not use the loopback interface to receive requests. -L enable libwrap connection logs. -S immediately changes the permissions of the rpcbind user daemon. This causes rpcbind to use a non-privileged port to flow out data and prevents the non-privileged client from using rpcbind to connect to the service corresponding to the privileged port on the server. -W enables rpcbind to read the state file for warm start (warm start) When rpcbind is started, and the state file is created at the last end of rpcbind. (Note) cold start refers to starting a process completely in the initial state, and warm start refers to restoring the process state in some way. Therefore, the cold-start process does not inherit the data and status of any original process .) NOTES If rpcbind is restarted, all RPC-managed services must be restarted.
