Manually compile and install apache2.x in Linux

First download the source package of apache2.x, address: http://httpd.apache.org/

The latest version isApache HTTP Server 2.4.4 ,:Http://httpd.apache.org/download.cgi#apache24

1. decompress the downloaded source code package.

Tar-xjvf httpd-2.4.4.tar.bz2

Or

Tar-xzvf httpd-2.4.4.tar.gz

2. Compile and install apache2.x

./Configure -- prefix =/usr/local/apache2 \

-- Enable-so

Prefix specifies the installation path.

Make

Make install (this requires a super administrator user)

3. You have installed Apache 2.x in/usr/local/apache2. Run the following command to start the Apache server:

/Usr/local/apache2/bin/apachectl start

Stop the server:

/Usr/local/apache2/bin/apachectl stop

Restart the server:

/Usr/local/apache2/bin/apachectl restart

If you need other support for PHP, you can modify/CONF/httpd. conf in the installation directoryFile configuration!
