Spreadsheets made with Excel have no borders by default and can be seen through previews, as shown in Figure 1. However, users can manually set table borders and shading as needed.
Step 1th, select the cells or series of cells that you want to set borders and shading, right-click, and select the Format Cells menu item, as shown in Figure 2.
2nd step, pop-up Format Cells box, select the Borders tab, select a border color in color, select a line's style in style, such as line selection, and then click the Outer border button to set the outline to bold. Then select a "thin line" in the style, and click the Internal button to set the border of the cell inside the table to a thin line, as shown in Figure 3.
Step 3rd, select the Fill tab, and select a favorite color in the background color to fill the background color of the selected cell, as shown in Figure 4. When you are set up, click the OK button.
Step 4th, click the Preview button to preview the effect of the setting, as shown in Figure 5.
