Q: I'm curious about how the prvalue is stored internally? Is it decimal, like people guess, or an integer?
A: make it more accurate to decimal places. Of course, our internal PR computing is much longer than the 0-10 displayed in the toolbar.
Q: Do I need to know this? I know what PR can tell me. Why do I care? That is to say, what is the purpose of PR for normal websites?
A: I think this is a healthy attitude. If you don't care about PR and your website runs well, this is good.
Q: Will data centers that use older infrastructure be updated, or will my PR be different in the following months?
A: the latter. I believe that most data centers use new infrastructure, such as info: related: link: and other commands and PR, all have output New recent prvalues. Other older data centers may take one or two months to convert to a new infrastructure.
Q: Many people ask if PR is from date X to date Y? What is the reverse link date Z?
A: I won't worry about this. In fact, I'm not sure. At a certain point in time, we can simplify the internal PR value to a range of 0 to 10, and then output it so that you can see it on the toolbar.
If you are worried about the day of the reverse link, you may be suffering from reverse link fans. You should stop and do other things until your reverse link fans get better. I suggest keyword analysis, research on log files, find out what content should be added, and think about more link bait to make your website more attractive, and study how to increase the conversion rate and so on.
Q: Google can only output the prvalue a few months ago, which is very troublesome.
A: I have said that PR is continuously calculated. We have machines that pass the input to the PR algorithm to calculate the PR results. So at any point in time, a URL has the latest prvalue in Google's system. From time to time, we can output the internal prvalue to the toolbar, so that you can see it.
Q: I'm curious, why don't you bother telling us about the new PR update? Is this your first time to do this?
A: Yes. I am not very sure if I have been published as an official spokesman for PR. Google is not a big deal. Honestly, I don't know this PR Update. I saw someone talking about it on the Internet and checked it to see if it was true. In the past few months, people have also noticed that Google engineers sometimes choose a data center that is not commonly used to do some experiments, such as reverse links and info: queries. So I think I should tell you that this is a real PR output, not an engineer doing experiments.
Q: Will PR update affect search results? Will we see changes in search results next?
A: Good question. When you see the new PR in the toolbar, these values have been considered in the ranking algorithm. So you may look very happy with the new PR value, but it is not the reason for the change in ranking results. So you won't see the changes in the ranking results caused by PR updates. The changes in these ranking results have been calculated since the previous PR update.
