Cause: My DHCP server also uses 66, 67 ports, and WDS uses the same port.

Ever installed WDS and DHCP on the same server? Usually this doesn ' t cause a problem, but in some cases, you'll have issues with starting the WDS server.

Looking at the event log you'll see this nasty error: "The Windows Deployment Services Server service terminated with SE Rvice-specific error only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted "

The solution to this problem was manually changing a registry value to force the WDS service to not use the DHCP ports.

Here's how to do it:

Open Regedit and go to hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\services\wdsserver\wdspxe
