Can meego run on my netbok?

Meego1.0 currently requires:

• CPU: 32-bit Intel Atom or Intel Core 2 CPU (ssse3 Instruction Set supported)
  • Note: meego cannot run on a CPU that does not support the ssse3 instruction set.
• Compatible with Intel Graphics Processing Chips. GMA-500, NVIDIA, ATI graphics chips are not supported.

We recommend that you first use a USB flash drive to start the meego system and check whether your hardware supports meego.

How to install meego?

User

For Windows users, you need to install meego on your netbook. You can use a special writing tool to write the meego image file to the USB flash drive. Can meego run in a virtual environment?

User:

We do not recommend that end users run meego in virtual environments. The best way is to run meego on a mobile device (USB flash drive) so that your original system will not be affected.

Developers:

Currently, image files containing user experience under virtual machines have not yet been designed and 3D acceleration support is not available. However, a meego SDK that includes the chroot + xephyr simulation environment can simulate the running of meego UX in a non-netbook environment.

Why can't I connect to the Internet through WiFi?

User

For most users, WiFi works. However, some wireless Nic drivers are not available in some open-source Linux branches. Therefore, you need to use a USB flash drive to start the meego system and check whether the wireless network card is available.

In most cases, you can download an available wireless NIC Driver and reinstall it in meego.

How to install an application in meego

User

Go to the "application" Panel and click "manage apps" to select or browse new applications.

Open the terminal and use Yum to install common applications. The following uses Firefox installation as an example:

How do I change the keyboard layout?

Why cannot meego run on my hardware?

To put it simply, an open-source project can only support a small number of special hardware devices at the beginning, just as in Linux, it can only be deployed on at 386 machines at the beginning, since then, many developers have to work together to add, modify, and add new devices.
