Most MPEG movie files downloaded via BT have bad data, causing problems such as inability to play or fast-forward. How do you fix a damaged MPEG file? Here's how to fix the MPEG movie.
A review of the methods for the restoration of MPEG films
If the header data for the MPEG movie is broken, you can use UltraEdit or Winhex to replace the header data of the bad MPEG file with the normal MPEG header data, and if the other parts of MPEG are broken, you can use specialized tools such as Vcdgear, VLC Media Player, Movie Cube 2006, all Media Fixer pro and so on to repair.
Ii. use of UltraEdit-32 to repair MPEG
The principle of fixing MPEG is to copy a normal MPEG file header data, paste it into the same area of the bad file head, as follows:
Start UltraEdit-32, click the menu "File"/open, open the bad MPEG file, locate the header data anomaly position, record the offset (for example, 000000b0), and then click "File"/open to open an MPEG file that can play correctly. Move the mouse over the offset you just recorded, position it slightly larger than the offset (for example, 000000C0), and then drag up to offset 00000000h, and then click Edit/Copy to copy the 00000000h-000000c0h data (figure 1 below);
Next, open the bad MPEG file, also starting at offset 00000000h, using the mouse to select 00000000h-000000c0h the same range of data, and then click the Menu "Edit"/paste, the copy has just been copied out of the normal data to replace the bad data, Finally save the bad MPEG file exit and complete the repair work!
Tip: It is recommended that you back up the original MPEG file before you perform the above repair work.
Third, the use of Winhex repair
Winhex is the same as the UltraEdit feature, it can quickly open 50MB to several GB of MPEG files for editing and modification. Using Winhex to repair the MPEG method is similar to the UltraEdit, which uses normal MPEG header data to replace the bad MPEG header data, and the following steps are followed:
Run Winhex, click the menu "file"/open open the bad MPEG file, find the header data Anomaly location, record the offset (for example, 00000060), and then click the menu "file"/open open a complete lossless MPEG file, Starting at Offset 00000000, drag the mouse to the offset (for example, 00000060) that you just recorded, note that it is slightly larger than the offset, for example, drag to offset 00000070, and then click the Menu "Edit"/copy block/nomally to copy the segment data ( Figure 2 below);
Next in the Winhex main window, click the menu "File"/open open the bad MPEG file, also starting at offset 00000000h, using the mouse to select the same range (such as 00000000-00000070) of data, and then click the Menu "Edit"/paste, Replace the bad data by replacing the normal data that has just been copied, that is, replacing the bad MPEG with the normal MPEG head data;
Finally save exit Winhex, at this time you try a variety of MPEG playback software playback, there will be no "unrecognized format" or "format is not" such as prompts, MPEG repair success!
Iv. Use of Vcdgear repair
If you see a green stripe lattice or noise on the screen when you play the MPEG file, the MPEG file is broken and you are recommended to use VCDGear3.55 to fix it. Vcdgear specifically fixes corrupted data in MPEG, and the repair steps are as follows:
First download Vcdgear installation run.
In the Vcdgear main window, click the "unzip/convert" Drop-down list on the top left, select "MPEG-> MPEG" for MPEG fix conversion, tick "fix MPEG Error", click "Load", select the MPEG file to be repaired, then pop up a window, Ask where the repaired movie will be saved, specify the location and name of the MPEG file after the repair, and then click "Save" to return to the main window of the software, and then click the "Start" button on the bottom left (Figure 4 below) and the software will automatically fix the MPEG file.
After the repair is complete, click on the "Logs" tab in the main software window to see the record of the files being repaired in the MPEG file.
V. Use VLC Media player to repair
If part of the data outside of the MPEG file header is bad, the recommended use of VLC Media Player is to fix it. VLC Media player can play the incomplete MPEG4, MPEG2, and other format video files, the repair operation is also very simple, the method is:
Run VLC Media Player, click on the menu "File"/Wizard in the main window, and in the pop-up window, select "transcoding/Dump to File" (Figure 5);
Then press "Next" all the way, set the input stream to the MPEG file (such as f:01.mpeg) to be repaired, select the video and audio encoding format, select the saved format for the restored file (for example, MPEG 1), select the location where the MPEG is saved (for example, C:01.mpeg), and then press " Finish "Start to repair the transformation, after the repair is complete, the file will be able to play the normal!"
Six, use the movie Rubik's Cube 2006 repair
Homemade video editing software "movie Cube 2006" can also repair MPEG files, the repair operation is as follows:
In the top left "project manager panel", click the File tab, click the Video button, and then right-click the mouse to select the Import command (Figure 6 below) to import the MPEG file you want to repair; If you want to view the MPEG file information, you can right-click the file and choose Edit information. View the main parameters for this MPEG.
Next in the top left "project manager panel", select an imported MPEG file, drag it to the video track in the timeline panel, and then click the Output button to perform the MPEG repair output; In the pop-up window, click to go to the "General" tab, in "MPEG file" To the right, enter the file save path after repair (Figure 7 below);
Finally click on the "Watch" tab and click "Start" to automatically fix the MPEG.
Because the Rubik's cube is only fixed on the MPEG specification, not recoding, it does not compromise the quality of the original MPEG video.
Vii. use all Media Fixer Pro Repair
All Media Fixer Pro can also repair MPEG files, repair success rates in 90%~95%, and it can also fix wma/wmv/asf/wm/asx/avi/vob/rm/mp3,mp2/mp1/mpa/mpga/mpg/mpa/ Dat/wave/jpeg/bmp and other format files.
Using all Media fixer Pro to fix MPEG, the operation is very simple, run the software, click the menu "File"/Add File in the main window, add the files to fix MPEG, and then click the menu "Tools"/fix (Figure 8 below) and the software will automatically fix MPEG.
