Methods for changing the MySQL user name and password

Source: Internet
Author: User

Method 1:
Under/usr/local/mysql/bin:
./Mysqladmin-u root password 'new _ password'
This method is usually used for installation.

Method 2:
In mysql:
Mysql> UPDATE user SET password = PASSWORD ('new _ password') WHERE user = 'root ';
Mysql> flush privileges;

Method 3:
Mysql> set password for root = PASSWORD ('new _ password ');

Modify the root password when you know the root password.
Add-skip-grant-tables when mysqld is started, change the password immediately, remove-skip-grant-tables, and then OK.

I remembered that when I was working at eyou three years ago, I changed the root password for the mail users of qmail + vpopmail + mysql, but the eyou system was not used at the time, the original system cannot be used because of the root password. I will check libvpopmail. a. The password is found in the binary file :)
