Microsoft officially announced on Saturday (October 13) evening that it would not buy Yahoo. The next afternoon, Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates accepted an exclusive interview with Forbes, during which he talked about the future of Google and Microsoft and why he liked the losers.
Forbes reporter Evelyn rusli: the transaction between Microsoft and Yahoo has been declared a failure. What do you think of this? What will happen in the future? Are you planning to make a comeback or looking for other acquisitions?
Gates: Well, it's a little out of date to raise these questions to me-I am attending Berkshire's shareholders' meeting and cannot comment on Microsoft.
Lousili: OK. Speaking of attending the Berkshire Hathaway conference, do you have anything to say about this weekend?
Gates: Oh. I am very happy to hear Warren Buffett's latest thoughts and feel the enthusiasm for the culture of the company he built. I am very honored to be on the board of the company and to generously inject most of his money into the Melinda Foundation, so that we can do more and more things around the world. He has made remarkable achievements in business ...... There are so many people attending the meeting today, breaking the history. I am happy to be here today.
Lousili: you are about to leave Microsoft's daily operations. What are your plans for the next step in your life?
Gates: I will be working full-time at the Melinda Foundation in the future. From July 1 onwards, I will spend more time in developing countries. I plan to go to schools across different regions to find out how to maximize the value of my wealth and Warren.
Lousili: Can you comment on Microsoft's future? What do you think about the competition between Microsoft and Google?
We love Software Search is also one of our fields. From a certain perspective, it is also interesting to become a loser. We believe that we can do a lot of innovative work.
Lousili: Do you have any plans to stay competitive?
Gates: our competition will be very effective.
