GROUP: Search Technology Center Asia (stca)/Bing ads-DB

Title: Senior Software Engineer

Location: Suzhou/Beijing, China

Bing ads is Microsoft's uniied ad monetization platform chartered with delivering ads on Bing, MSN, partner publisher websites and Applications published ss pc and mobile devices. the ADS application group team builds and manages high-availability Web applications that serve millions of advertisers, allowing them dynamically bid ads based on keywords. and the DB team in the group manages all the databases used by the ads applications.

We are currently working toward moving the DBS toward azure SQL to have better manageability, scalability and performance. there are lots of challenges ahead of us, such as solving the eventual consistency processing SS thousands of shards within seconds using technology like paxos, or doing a search engine like query to give MERs nth page processing SS complex OLTP + bi query, or using in memory databases to increase our API performance by 10 times.

If you have extensive experience in developing database services/applications, an extremely good grasp of software engineering principles, and exceptional problem solving skills then come join us. experience building high performance and scalable systems and troubleshooting skills are highly desirable.

Qualified candidates must meet the following requirements:

-5 + years of professional software development experience

-Strong database design and implementation skill

-Expert development skills in C #, software design, implementation and debugging

-Passion for quality and success

-Drive for solving hard problems and have a great sense of ownership

-BS or MS in computer science or equivalent is required

Following are the main responsibilities:

-Design and implement database service that can scale out with high performance and high availability

-Lead and contribute to over-all architecture and designs

-Design and implement high quality, scalable and maintainable code

-Troubleshoot and fix live issues for our MERs
