Microsoft loopback adapter (loopback adapter) for Oracle 11G network adapter Installation)

During the installation of 11g, this machine encountered the need to install the loop adapter. My system is Windows 2003 Server. in the network environment of the lab, IP addresses are automatically allocated by DHCP. If Oracle finds that your machine is using DHCP, install the Microsoft loopback adapter to provide a static IP address. For details about the installation method, see:

1. Click start, and then click Control Panel ".
2. If you are in the classic view, click switch to category view under control panel in the left pane ".
3. Double-click "printer and other hardware" and then click "Next ".
4. Under "see" in the left pane, click "add Hardware", and then click "Next ".
5. Click "yes, I have connected to this hardware", and then click "Next ".
6. Click "Add new hardware device" at the bottom of the list, and then click "Next ".
7. Click "install hardware I manually selected from the list" and then click "Next ".
8. Click "network adapter", and then click "Next ".
9. In the "manufacturer" box, click "Microsoft ".
10. In the network adapter box, click Microsoft loopback adapter, and then click Next ".
11. Click Finish ".
12. Restart. Go to the network connection properties, you should see "local connection 2", open its properties, modify the TCP/IP protocol configuration, and assign the IP address manually. The recommended value for Oracle is 10.10.10.10, or 192.168.x.x, mask 255.255.255.0. Leave all gateway and so on empty. Write down this value for backup.
13. restart again, open the system_drive: \ windows \ system32 \ drivers \ etc \ hosts file, and add a line after localhost: ip_address hostname. domainname hostname. For example, 10.10.10.10 rain. If the machine is not in a domain, you do not need to provide an intermediate domain name.

The 11g I installed is Enterprise Edition. You can go to the Management page through http: // 10.10.10: 1158/em. Here you can create users and maintain tablespaces. Note that although the newly added user can specify a tablespace at that time, it does not automatically get the storage space quota and must be manually configured. In Oracle 11g, it seems that only one user can be configured with an unlimited space table. That is to say, if the quota of both tables is set to unlimited, an error is returned. Therefore, we recommend that you set the users table to an infinite number.

You can log on to this page from other machines, but you can use the real IP address to replace 10.10.10.10. I have never tried to execute it on the public network. If yes, I would like to remind DBAs to be careful in terms of security. I also encountered a problem where I could not log on to this page. A remoteoperationexception: Error: Wrong Password for user error. This error occurs when you enter the Windows user name and password during Remote logon. Solution: Run Control Panel> Administrative Tools> Local Security Policy on the Oracle server machine. In "Local Policy", go to "user permission allocation ", on the right side, find "Log on as a batch job" and double-click it to add the user name to the list. In this way, you can use this user name and password to log on to Enterprise Manager. This method was successfully tested in win2003 and could not be guaranteed to be applicable to other operating systems.

Finally, I will mention the client configuration. The key to client configuration is to set the tnsnames. ora file. The premise is that you have installed the client software with the same version number as the server. Of course, we can use the Wizard to modify this configuration file, but it is not difficult to directly modify it. The following is an example:
