Microsoft Open OpenSSH source code for Windows

The Microsoft PowerShell team announced on April 9 that Windows will support SSH native. Now the source code of OpenSSH for Windows has been published on GitHub. The official PowerShell blog says that their porting version is based on earlier Windows porting of NoMachine, but the porting version of NoMachine is based on OpenSSH 5.9, therefore, Microsoft cooperates with NoMachine to synchronize the transplanted version with the latest OpenSSH 7.1 version.

Microsoft will continue to work with NoMachine. In the next step, Microsoft will replace OpenSSL/LibreSSL with its own Windows encryption api in the transplantation so that it can run on a Windows server. Microsoft expects to release the official OpenSSH version for Windows in the first half of next year.
