Once the user does so, the mail automatically adjusts the email address to outlook.com. Microsoft says it will transfer all Hotmail users to outlook.com over time.
The change in mailbox name reflects Microsoft's determination to push outlook to consumers, including businesses. Next-generation Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, will be the first product to be made available to consumers in the form of paid use.
