Microsoft's April promise has finally materialized, with Microsoft launching the first CTP of SQL Server Everywhere Edition on TechEd 2006, a database for client-side systems and mobile device versions.
SQL Server everywhere provides a partial feature of the full version of server that provides organized data storage for offline clients. SQL Server everywhere can reverse sync to the full version of SQL Server's database, or it can operate independently.
Everywhere can be used in harsh mobile situations, it provides a data storage platform for developers of Windows Mobile and Pocket PCs. The first CTP does not yet support Windows Mobile, but Microsoft says the final version to be launched at the end of the year will change that.
SQL Server Everywhere Edition will be provided as free as SQL Server Express. This everywhere CTP support system has Windows XP sp2,server 2003 and Vista Beta 2.
