Recently, the company's new development of a project to use Microsoft's TFS2013 project source control, previously just used SVN, never used TFS, so in the online Baidu, Google for a while to see how to install and configuration, fortunately spent a day is finally a preliminary fix, Here's a quick introduction to the installation and configuration process.

I. Introduction to the installation and configuration process

To install TFS2013 of course to download first, you can download at the following address: http://www.microsoft.com/zh-cn/download/details.aspx?id=43728; file 2.5G

Once the download is complete, double-click the Vs2013.3_tfs_chs.iso file to install it, and be aware of installing this version of TFS to install SQL Server SP1 first. The installation interface looks like this:

Select I accept the license terms for Team Foundation Server and click Install Now to see the following screen:

The installation progress bar appears, waiting for the installation to complete ... After the installation is complete, the interface of the team Foundation Server Configuration center pops up, and the first time you run the configuration center, you are prompted to enter the product key as shown:

As for the product key, hehe. Everyone can visit the Unbridled web forum, where there will be what you want. After entering the product key, the following interface appears:

we choose to configure---Basic options and then click Start Wizard to launch the Basic Configuration Wizard, such as:

Then click Next and choose to use an existing instance of SQL Server, such as:

Click Next, the server name will appear, if it is native, it can not be used. or localhost represents a native instance, typically represented by the full computer name. Such as:

After the test passes, click Next will run the environment check, check the following screen after the appearance:

then click the Configure button to start the automatic configuration , such as:

After about 5 minutes of waiting, all the configuration succeeds, the interface appears, the installation is successful, haha ...

The above is the TFS2013 all the installation and configuration process. Here's how to use TFS2013 for source code control and team development.

Ii. using TFS for Team development and source code management

Enter in the browser: Http://localhost:8080/tfs will appear:

The browser can be accessed normally, indicating that the above configuration process is normal.

There are features, understand, get visual Studio, manage four options, I click Manage, click on the Access Level tab in the interface that appears, such as:

We can see on the left side: limited, Standard, full three access levels, we set "full" to the default access level.

After the setup is complete, we open VS2013, click on Team Explorer to select the team project, punch the following interface:

We select a team server, then a default team project collection appears, we select this default team project collection, and then click the Connect button, such as:

After clicking the Connect button, because it is the first time that Team Explorer using VS2013 will prompt you to map a local workspace, where our code and documentation are to be saved, we click Configure workspace, such as:

We click the map and get button to indicate that the workspace has been successfully mapped. Then we go back to VS2013 Team Explorer home page, click Create Team Project, fill in a team project name and description description, and then click Next, such as:

In the interface that appears, we will be prompted to select a process template, where I have selected the second Agile development template, such as:

Click Next, in the interface that appears, select Use Team Foundation versioning, such as:

Then we click the Finish button and the interface to create the team project appears as follows:

Waiting for a few minutes to appear indicates that the team project was created successfully:

Then we click the Close button. In VS2013 Team Explorer, on the team project's home page, in the solution tree list below, click the New button. Such as:

After we click the New button, we can create a standard VS project, where I have selected an ASP. NET Web application, such as:

In the newly created project, in Solution Explorer, we find that the code file is preceded by a plus sign (+), we can check in the project once, select the solution, then right-click and select Check-in, such as:

When you click the Check In button, a lock pattern appears in front of our code file. Indicates that the server has been checked in.

So how do the other members of the team connect and get the project after the code files and projects are checked in to the server?

First we have to create a Windows user, click-"This computer--" Right click-"Select the Management menu, pop up the Computer Management interface, and then select Local Users and Groups-" user, create a new user, such as:

After creating the Windows user, our next step is to add the user to the TFS team project members. In the home page of VS2013 Team Explorer, we clicked on the Web portal, such as:

When you click the Web portal, the management interface for TFS opens in your browser, such as:

On the right there is a member management function, and we click the Manage button to appear:

We click the Add button to add the newly created Windows user to the team project members, such as:

This allows our test users to connect to our TFS server with VS2013 and get the team project code.

Third, the last

I am here to simply demonstrate the installation of TFS configuration process, TFS2013 is very powerful, but also for project planning, bugs, testing and other management, these advanced features I will be in the back of the slowly groping. TFS also has a team chat room feature that I personally feel is very flashy. Finally, a team chat room is attached:

TFS2013 TFS Power Tools is finally available. While this version does not add new features, it has a lot of bug fixes, and power tools has all been updated to work with VS2013 and TFS2013. Also, the version detection feature has been changed so that power tools can work with the updated version of VS2013-so there is no need to wait for power tools for each vs update version. Of course, Power tools will work in conjunction with the VS2013 RTM version. We do not intend to update power tools specifically for the VS2013RTM version unless you find a major problem that needs to be addressed.
