Microsoft recently tested the stable version of IE9 browser on the Xbox360 game host, according to TheVerge, a tech blog reported on July 9, Beijing time.
The Xbox360 is now configured with the Bing voice search function, but the media search results are limited. Microsoft added the new version of Internet Explorer to Xbox to extend the search function to the entire browser. According to sources, the Internet Explorer 9 will allow Xbox users to access the Internet directly in the living room.
Microsoft also integrated the somatosensory gestures and voice control functions of the Kinect into the IE9 web browsing experience. Xbox users can quickly search through the existing Bing functions and pull the relevant web pages through gestures. The news sources said that when using a browser, users can choose whether to convert to a Kinect usage. IE9Kinect browser support is not mandatory.
Sources did not disclose the specific time when Microsoft launched the Xbox360IE9 browser, but E3 is about to kick off. It may be possible to get an official statement from Microsoft.
