Microsoft's new desktop topic-energy blue

0. Origin

Microsoft released the new Windows XP Media Center edition 2005, this time bringing the new desktop topic-energy blue (also known as Royale ). I want to taste it, but I am bored. I am only a friend of Windows XP Professional/Home Edition. You are lucky this time!

1. Raw Materials

Microsoft officially released a separate energy blue topic package. Unfortunately, the official page states that this topic package is designed for the tablet PC and requires you to add Service Pack 2 to the system.

2. Extract the required files

However, we know clearly that simple theme files are not picky about whether the system is a tablet PC, so I do not follow the normal installation process directly, however, some decompression software (such as WinRAR) is used to decompress the file:

In fact, we only need to extract the following four files:

• Royale. Theme
• Royale. msstyles
• Shellstyle. dll
• Energybliss.jpg

3. Create a home for the new theme

We know that Windows stores all theme files in the X: \ windows \ resources \ themes folder (X is the drive letter of the current system ). So here we are building a house for energy blue:

4. Let energy blue live in

• Arrange for Royale. theme to be included in X: \ windows \ resources \ themes;
• Arrange for Royale. msstyles to enter X: \ windows \ resources \ themes \ Royale;
• Select X: \ windows \ resources \ themes \ Royale \ wallpaper from the list of energybliss.jpg files;
• However, shellstyle. dll is a little special. You have to reserve the following four rooms for it:
  • X: \ windows \ resources \ themes \ Royale \ shell \ Homestead
  • X: \ windows \ resources \ themes \ Royale \ shell \ metallic
  • X: \ windows \ resources \ themes \ Royale \ shell \ normalcolor
  • X: \ windows \ resources \ themes \ Royale \ shell \ Royale

5. Everything is ready, and only applications are not available

After you have installed everything, you can select the energy blue topic in the display attribute topic tab! Don't tell me you don't know how to apply theme!

6. What else do I have to say?

Because I use Windows XP Professional in English and have not performed tests on other operating systems, if you are using a different operating system but want to try it again, then you should pay attention to the relevant preparations.
