Introduction: Use the IBM Lotus Expeditor Toolkit to migrate the Java EE project to the IBM Lotus Expeditor V6.1, and then deploy the migrated project to the Lotus Expeditor runtime. This article explains the steps required to migrate the Java EE Project and the Java EE features that Lotus Expeditor does not support.
IBM Lotus Expeditor This IBM product support migrates Java EE applications to client computers with a familiar programming model. IBM Lotus Expeditor Toolkit allows developers to rewrite the Java EE project in order to run on the Lotus Expeditor runtime. In this article, you will explain how to migrate the Java EE project.
To get the most out of this article, you should familiarize yourself with Java™ and Java EE and how to use the Eclipse 3.x technology for plug-in development. Keep in mind that the Java EE project is not a plug-in project, but the Lotus Expeditor project is a plug-in project. The Lotus Expeditor project contains manifest files and plugin.xml files that are unique to the plug-in project, so you must understand how these files should be handled.

Before you begin to perform the steps in this article, you must install IBM Rational application Developer V7.0, Lotus Expeditor Toolkit V6.1, and Lotus Expeditor Client V6.1. You can download the free trial version of the Rational application Developer for WebSphere Software from DeveloperWorks.
Migrate existing Java-EE EJB projects to Lotus Expeditor
Developing the Java EE application is beyond the scope of this article. To simplify the development process, we import an existing Java EE sample project and migrate it. Before you begin your study, be sure to download the sample code (SAMPLEJ2EEPROJECT.ZIP) provided in the download section of this article.
First, import the sample Java project into the Rational application Developer:
In the Rational application Developer, select Window-open perspective-other-j2ee switch to the Java EE perspective.
Select File-import to import samplej2eeproject.zip.
In the Import Wizard, select Existing projects into workspace, and then click Next.
