Migrate to GPT hard disk-Linux general technology-Linux technology and application information. The following is a detailed description. [I = s] This post was last edited by pl_014
Out of curiosity about the new technology, coupled with dissatisfaction with the limitation of four primary partitions of the mbr hard disk, I recently converted a GB hard disk into a GPT hard disk, migrate the installed debian and start it from the GPT hard disk. The system runs normally and most software can run normally. Now, I will share my process and experience with you, hope to help you
Environment:
Operating System: debian squeeze Single System
Kernel: 2.6.32-5-amd64
Bootloader: grub2
Motherboard: Strongpositive P35 + (bios motherboard)
CPU: Intel Core2 Duo
Hard Disk: Western data, Seagate
My debian was originally installed on the hard disk of Seagate. I converted the hard disk of Western data into GPT and completely migrated debian to the hard disk of Western data, the procedure is as follows:
Step 1: Prepare
1. Back up mbr
Before proceeding to the next step, we recommend that you back up the mbr and leave a path for yourself. You need to back up the mbr and run the following command:
CODE: dd if =/dev/sda of =/boot. NNNN bs = 512 count = 1 |
