Ubuntu7.10 has been officially released. The kernel uses 2.6.22 and X.org is 7.2. GNOME is of course the latest version 2.20. By default, it integrates the Compiz0.6.0 window manager, this version of Ubuntu has a brilliant 3D desktop effect. By default, ntfs read/write is also very user-friendly. I also found several small changes, but not everyone has encountered these problems like me. 1. Change the usplash resolution to the display

By default, the Compiz 0.6.0 window manager is integrated, this version of Ubuntu has a brilliant 3D desktop effect. By default, ntfs read/write is also very user-friendly. I also found several small changes, but not everyone has encountered these problems like me.
1. usplash resolution
After changing the display to 22 ", I found that the startup screen is still 1024 × 768. I also tried to edit menu. lst and added vga = 799 after the startup parameter, but it failed. After you reinstall Ubuntu 7.10, the boot screen is automatically adjusted to 1600 × 1200 resolution, which is much better (why does it not support wide screen resolution ?).
2. the Splash Screens screen is canceled by default.
That is, the thing that appeared before entering the desktop after entering the user name and password, I always think it is redundant.
3. the archive Manager supports dragging
Drag the files to be decompressed from the archive manager. This is a habit of using Windows. I have never been able to do this during Ubuntu 7.04. I have searched for some materials and have not solved the problem. I remember that this problem was not found in both Ubuntu 6.10 and earlier versions. Now, Ubuntu 7.10 is ready again.
4. You can log out normally.
It seems that after Compiz is installed, you can log out and log on again. The system is too slow to be used. You have to Ctrl + Alt + Backspace to restart X, so that when I used 7.04, I got into the habit of restarting X.
