Misunderstanding of CSS background-Position

For the background-position attribute, I thought it was for merging background images. It is to combine some common images of the website, and then use the background-position to locate a position in the composite background image to obtain the desired image.

But actually it is not.Background-postion refers to the location of the background image in the container..

For example, background-postion: left center refers to the position where the background image is located in the container horizontally to the left and vertically to the center.

This attribute can be used to "locate" a part of a composite background image. It must be combined with width and height.
