Install a system first there are n ways to install the system to a lot of places.

Installation system is the 2-step key, the first one is where to boot the system, the second is to install the system where.

Where to boot from, there are several common:

1. Booting from the optical drive, only CD-ROM installation

2. Booting from U disk, is to install the system directly with U disk.

Here is the extension of 2 directions, the first is to simulate the form of CD-ROM boot, the second is to simulate the way the hard disk boot installation.

3. Booting from hard disk, but also actually follow the U disk very much like, but there are differences.

Where to install, there are several common:

1. Install directly into the computer's hard drive

2. Installing to an external hard drive

3. Install to the USB flash drive.

These 3 kinds are essentially the same thing.

First list My Computer situation:

There is a system windows7 with a C drive, a D drive, and 2 primary partitions.

There is also a removable hard disk called H disk, which currently has only one partition.

Goal:

We want to Win7 on the Linux system to my mobile hard drive (of course, the computer comes with a hard drive, but I am not enough space), and then boot should have 2 system boot options.

The following steps are played:

To prepare for installation boot:

We use the hard drive to direct the installation, so we download the ISO directly, and then use the EASYBSC tool to add system boot, you can boot Linux installation.

Step-Outs:

1. Download Ios:kubuntu-14.04-desktop-i386.iso

2. Download EASYBCD 2.2 (This is free)

3. Prepare the Boot file:

Unzip the ISO and copy the Initrd.lz and Vmlinuz under the *.iso/casper/.

Place the root of any partition (the so-called partition is the C-disk, D-disk, etc.) in the Win7. Then put the iOS files in the same directory.

I'm going to put it on my mobile drive. It doesn't matter, you can put it on a U-disk.

As follows:

3. Add Boot entry:

We need to configure the boot partition we have prepared to the system.

Click Install:

Then click Configure:

Write the following code:

Title Install kubuntu-14.04-desktop-i386

Root (hd1,0)

Kernel (hd1,0)/vmlinuz boot=casper iso-scan/filename=/kubuntu-14.04-desktop-i386.iso ro quiet splash locale=zh_cn. UTF-8

INITRD (hd1,0)/initrd.lz

Here's a little bit to note:

We (hdx,y) What this means, how to explain, first of all our hard drive (HD) is starting from 0 in turn:

HD0,HD1,HD2 ...

Each hard drive can have n partitions, including up to 4 primary partitions, and n logical partitions. Y represents the partition number.

The layout of the partition number is: 0,1,2,3 is the sequence number of the primary partition, and the logical partition starts at 4. For example, now the system is a C drive, a D drive, a mobile hdd H.

Which is the primary partition and the logical partition? We can see from the computer---management:

H disk is also a primary partition, currently we see the disk 1 is I have installed Linux after the appearance, before the installation of only one partition, is the H disk, a total of 1TB space.

Careful friends may be able to see that disk 1 is now actually all the main partition, has exceeded 4, this is why? We'll explain later.

So we put the bootstrap data on disk 1, the H disk (the first partition), so the disk number is (hd1,0)

4. Reboot to see the boot we added

Choose to go to our install kubuntu-14.04-desktop-i386 option, and then go in.

The next screen will be installed with the U disk, CD installation, as the boot has been completed.

To start the installation:

The next step is to walk the process. This starts with the Kubuntu interface, which has an installed icon on the desktop. Here do not click Install, start the console, execute a sentence: sudo umount-l/iosdevice (note here The L is the lowercase letter L)

Now double-click the Install button to start the Installation wizard:

Because we want to install to a certain partition of the mobile hard disk, so we choose, configure

Next, just grams see all the disks and partitions:

Click on the free partition and create the various partitions yourself:

First set up/partition, 10GB, note is the primary partition!!

Click OK, then.

Similarly, to create a swap partition: The size of the partition is exquisite ha, if the memory is less than or equal to 512MB, the size of the swap partition is twice times the size of memory.

Memory is greater than 512MB, swap partition is memory size. My memory is 3G, so fill in the size of 3GB.

Set up the/home logical partition 20g,/usr/local logical partition to use all the rest.

The final results are as follows:

For the sake of security, we do not destroy the original system boot items, or we may not be able to win7 boot. (This time, of course, it can be put into the Win7 disk, he will overwrite the original boot, but the new boot is also included in the Win7 boot entry, so Win7 can be started. But I still do not recommend this way)

The rest of the guide will have no meaning, and will not write.

Finally, the installation is complete, reboot.

Prepare to boot boot:

Now our system has been successfully installed to the peripheral disk, next is the need to add the installation of the partition into the boot, so boot can boot the system.

It is necessary to understand that the previous preparation guide is to boot the installation system, after the system is installed, it is necessary to boot the system.

At this time still need EASYBCD tool, the step is as follows:

Our Linux is installed on the second partition of disk two, so the drive here chooses this partition.

Then there is a next step, of course, you can not use this step, is to put the boot system guidance to the front of the installation system ahead (just to look good).

Then actually after the system installs, this installation wizard actually can not, here can neogrub this item to delete.

Then save, restart.

After rebooting, you will see the boot entry, and choose to go in:

And then it started up to the Kubuntu:

The installation is complete.

Then we can bring the system around. You only need to add the boot boot entry using EASYBCD on the target machine.

But in fact there is a problem (probably my machine's problem), is the wireless network can not be used, no wireless driver. The solution is as follows:

Excerpt from Web page:

Use an external wireless card or wired network to connect to the Internet first, so as to download the driver. Or you can first download the driver from another computer and install it offline.

The following is an example of a wireless network card with Broadcom 4321AG 802.11a/b/g/draft-n Wi-Fi Adapter

Open the terminal and install B43-fwcutter and Firmware-b43-installer.

sudo apt-get install B43-fwcutter firmware-b43-installer.

Then restart the system to open the terminal. Input

sudo modprobe-r b43 SSB,

sudo modprobe b43.

That's all you can do. If you can't, try using NDISwrapper.

sudo apt-get install ndiswrapper. then run it. It is to load the driver of the wireless network card under Windows system.

No, just go to your wireless card manufacturer's official website to see if it has a Linux driver.
