If you are a PE master, of course, you can make WinPE system, but most of the system enthusiasts do not have the ability, so we can fully use the Internet excellent WinPE resources for integration, to build their own WinPE system. Now take a deep WinPE v4.2 as an example to explain.

This should be the most important process of creating personalized WinPE. WinPE v4.2 's external program is stored in the Programs folder of the U disk root directory, and the filename is extra.wim. In contrast to other versions of WinPE, the depth WinPE v4.2 compresses the external program into a file, which is relatively cumbersome to modify.

The first thing to use is the Wintool tool. First extra.wim back up, then open Wintool, select Extra Mirror, set up the folder to be unpacked, check the right option for "writable Mount", "Open Directory Automatically", "Pre-Task Information", click "Mount Image" You can open the Wim file and write to the operation.

After you open the image, you can add the program you want to add to the WIM file as you would in Windows. Note: The added files should be able to run in the WinPE system, for example, to add a few practical detection and maintenance tools such as HDD low Grid tool. Of course, just adding files is not going to work in the WinPE system, and editing the Main.ini files in the folder. The format according to the above ready-made changes are good, the editor is finished don't forget to save. Deep WinPE v4.2 's Startup menu is simple, and if you want to add other tools, you can copy the image files from other PE to the Minipe folder in the root directory of the U disk, such as adding DM9.57 bilingual version, Diskgen disk Partitioning tool, Memtest memory detection tools and GHOST11.02 four tools. Also, after you add the tool, edit the configuration file to make it work. Deep WinPE v4.2 's Grub menu profile is stored in the MENU.DPE under the U disk root directory, and other PE is basically in the menu file, although the extension may be slightly different.

1, modify the PE start interface and desktop

Open u disk root directory under the Programs folder, which has a logon.jpg and wall.bmp, the first is the WinPE system to start the interface, find a favorite picture, modified to 800x600 size, compression size of 10KB, replace the logon.jpg file. Compression is to ensure that your WinPE can start smoothly, if the file is too large, will be in WinPE startup, this should be noted. Wall.bmp format is in 1024x768 BMP format, there is no requirement for size.

4. Modify GRUB Boot background image

Deep WinPE background image if you do not like, you can download their own replacement, the file name is minipe/deepin.xpm.gz. Of course, the Internet is not really suitable for our background map. Take it and do it yourself, and see how to do the background map below.

It takes some effort to make a grub background picture, but it's not too hard. There are several tool software to use: Acdphoto (note not acdsee), Xnview,gzip.exe,photoshop.

First find a favorite picture, with Acdphoto Open, resize to 640x480 (must this size), and then "adjust"-"color Depth"-"16 colors", save in BMP format.

The second step: use PS to open just saved pictures, "image"-"mode"-"Index color", palette for "local-selectable", forced to choose "No", Color fill "14".

Be sure to save after the format is BMP.

Step three: Open the picture you just modified with XnView, "image"-"Convert to Color"-"16 Color (FIT)", then "file"-"Save As" and select Format as XPM format. This is also the reason to choose XnView This software, it can be stored as XPM format, is not available to other looking software.

The final step: the production of xpm files compressed into GZ format. Place the xpm file and the downloaded Gzip.exe in the same folder, open cmd, navigate to the folder where Gzip is located, and enter the following command: gzip jds.xpm, then carriage return (note: jds.xpm is the file name of this example, you may be something else). At this point, the xpm file in your folder disappears and a GZ file is generated. Like jds.xpm.gz. Copy this file to the Minipe folder and replace the deepin.xpm.gz file.
