Modify rc. local to enable self-help when startup fails. 1. use the direction key to select the kernel you want to boot. 2. press the e key to edit the command line. 3. select the line starting with the word "kernel. 4. press the e key to edit the command line. 5. add a letter S6 at the end of the row and press enter to accept the change. 7. press B and then modify rc. local to enable self-help. 1. use the arrow key to select the kernel you want to boot. 2. press the e key to edit the command line. 3. select the line starting with the word "kernel. 4. press the e key to edit the command line. 5. add a letter "S" at the end of the row, and press enter to make changes. 7. press the B key to accept the modification and start the kernel.
