Modify the directory color under ls In ubuntu

In ubuntu, the directory color displayed by ls seems too hard.

So I want to change it to a color that is easy to recognize.

So I searched for it.

Here are three searched tutorials.

Simply put, I followed the above method and failed.

1. http://blog.csdn.net/star11053234/article/details/8680530

Here we have a Ubuntu project. The background seems to be not so cruel.

However, there are so many codes stuck in the middle that give people a sense of word-breaking.

Next, let's focus on the Color List everywhere. Modify the Directory and load the command for loading the color list to. bashrc, that is, start automatic loading.

However, it does not take effect after execution.

2. http://blog.chinaunix.net/uid-10540984-id-3058379.html

This is the same as the first one, but it does not take effect.

But he mentioned the numbers of several colors. Let's take a look.

3. http://dreamthinking.blog.163.com/blog/static/2051811712012313358252/

Let's talk about modifying the PS1 style.

Finally, let me talk about my solution.

In fact, the above is basically correct, but it may be because of directly copying blogs written by others, so none of them can take effect.

Start with. bash_profile. There is no configuration in it, mainly to execute the. bashrc file.

. Bashrc executes. bash_aliases, but this is an alias file, which is empty by default.

Then we can see. bash_functions, but only some functions. The default files do not exist.

Then there will be no more.

Then go to/and look for it.

Find it under/etc and Find Bash. bashrc.

A comment command is found in the last line.

# Uncomment to use the terminal colours set in DIR_COLORS#eval "$(dircolors -b /etc/DIR_COLORS)"

Then I will know that the solution mentioned above cannot take effect because the eval command is wrong.

So I analyzed this command, which means to execute the command dircolors-B/etc/dir_colors and then execute the output content as a command again.

That can be replaced

Manually execute dircolors-P>. dircolors. You can see that there is a dir 01; 34 # directory in the output file.

We can change 34 to a proper color, which can be 35 to 36. Try it on your own.

Run dircolors-B. dircolors to see the following figure.

[email protected]:~ $ dircolors -b .dircolorsLS_COLORS=‘di=01;35:ln=01;36:pi=40;33:so=01;35:do=01;35:bd=40;33;01:cd=40;33;01:or=40;31;01:su=37;41:sg=30;43:ca=30;41:tw=30;42:ow=34;42:st=37;44:ex=01;32:*.tar=01;31:*.tgz=01;31:*.arj=01;31:*.taz=01;31:*.lzh=01;31:*.lzma=01;31:*.tlz=01;31:*.txz=01;31:*.zip=01;31:*.z=01;31:*.Z=01;31:*.dz=01;31:*.gz=01;31:*.lz=01;31:*.xz=01;31:*.bz2=01;31:*.bz=01;31:*.tbz=01;31:*.tbz2=01;31:*.tz=01;31:*.deb=01;31:*.rpm=01;31:*.jar=01;31:*.war=01;31:*.ear=01;31:*.sar=01;31:*.rar=01;31:*.ace=01;31:*.zoo=01;31:*.cpio=01;31:*.7z=01;31:*.rz=01;31:*.jpg=01;35:*.jpeg=01;35:*.gif=01;35:*.bmp=01;35:*.pbm=01;35:*.pgm=01;35:*.ppm=01;35:*.tga=01;35:*.xbm=01;35:*.xpm=01;35:*.tif=01;35:*.tiff=01;35:*.png=01;35:*.svg=01;35:*.svgz=01;35:*.mng=01;35:*.pcx=01;35:*.mov=01;35:*.mpg=01;35:*.mpeg=01;35:*.m2v=01;35:*.mkv=01;35:*.webm=01;35:*.ogm=01;35:*.mp4=01;35:*.m4v=01;35:*.mp4v=01;35:*.vob=01;35:*.qt=01;35:*.nuv=01;35:*.wmv=01;35:*.asf=01;35:*.rm=01;35:*.rmvb=01;35:*.flc=01;35:*.avi=01;35:*.fli=01;35:*.flv=01;35:*.gl=01;35:*.dl=01;35:*.xcf=01;35:*.xwd=01;35:*.yuv=01;35:*.cgm=01;35:*.emf=01;35:*.axv=01;35:*.anx=01;35:*.ogv=01;35:*.ogx=01;35:*.aac=00;36:*.au=00;36:*.flac=00;36:*.mid=00;36:*.midi=00;36:*.mka=00;36:*.mp3=00;36:*.mpc=00;36:*.ogg=00;36:*.ra=00;36:*.wav=00;36:*.axa=00;36:*.oga=00;36:*.spx=00;36:*.xspf=00;36:‘;export LS_COLORS

Simply put, the file is compressed into a variable, and each configuration is separated by a colon. We can see that the second di = 01; 35 is our configuration.

Finally, export ls_colors sets this variable as a global variable.

So it's easy to do ~ Add this sentence to the last line of/. bashrc.

eval "$(dircolors -b .dircolors)"

Now that we know the meaning, we can do the same.

eval "`dircolors -b .dircolors`"

Note: This is the key under ESC in the upper left corner of the keyboard, not a single quotation mark.

The tragedy is that this method takes effect on my computer, but fails on the server.
See:

[email protected]:~ $ dircolors -p > .dir_colors[email protected]:~ $ dircolors -b .dir_colorsLS_COLORS=‘‘;export LS_COLORS

Then try to manually execute the export.

That is, execute

[email protected]:~ $ LS_COLORS=‘di=01;35:ln=01;36:pi=40;33:so=01;35:do=01;35:bd=40;33;01:cd=40;33;01:or=40;31;01:su=37;41:sg=30;43:ca=30;41:tw=30;42:ow=34;42:st=37;44:ex=01;32:*.tar=01;31:*.tgz=01;31:*.arj=01;31:*.taz=01;31:*.lzh=01;31:*.lzma=01;31:*.tlz=01;31:*.txz=01;31:*.zip=01;31:*.z=01;31:*.Z=01;31:*.dz=01;31:*.gz=01;31:*.lz=01;31:*.xz=01;31:*.bz2=01;31:*.bz=01;31:*.tbz=01;31:*.tbz2=01;31:*.tz=01;31:*.deb=01;31:*.rpm=01;31:*.jar=01;31:*.war=01;31:*.ear=01;31:*.sar=01;31:*.rar=01;31:*.ace=01;31:*.zoo=01;31:*.cpio=01;31:*.7z=01;31:*.rz=01;31:*.jpg=01;35:*.jpeg=01;35:*.gif=01;35:*.bmp=01;35:*.pbm=01;35:*.pgm=01;35:*.ppm=01;35:*.tga=01;35:*.xbm=01;35:*.xpm=01;35:*.tif=01;35:*.tiff=01;35:*.png=01;35:*.svg=01;35:*.svgz=01;35:*.mng=01;35:*.pcx=01;35:*.mov=01;35:*.mpg=01;35:*.mpeg=01;35:*.m2v=01;35:*.mkv=01;35:*.webm=01;35:*.ogm=01;35:*.mp4=01;35:*.m4v=01;35:*.mp4v=01;35:*.vob=01;35:*.qt=01;35:*.nuv=01;35:*.wmv=01;35:*.asf=01;35:*.rm=01;35:*.rmvb=01;35:*.flc=01;35:*.avi=01;35:*.fli=01;35:*.flv=01;35:*.gl=01;35:*.dl=01;35:*.xcf=01;35:*.xwd=01;35:*.yuv=01;35:*.cgm=01;35:*.emf=01;35:*.axv=01;35:*.anx=01;35:*.ogv=01;35:*.ogx=01;35:*.aac=00;36:*.au=00;36:*.flac=00;36:*.mid=00;36:*.midi=00;36:*.mka=00;36:*.mp3=00;36:*.mpc=00;36:*.ogg=00;36:*.ra=00;36:*.wav=00;36:*.axa=00;36:*.oga=00;36:*.spx=00;36:*.xspf=00;36:‘;[email protected]:~ $ export LS_COLORS

Then, it becomes effective.

However, this error is prompted when the command is executed.

ls: unrecognized prefix: cals: unparsable value for LS_COLORS environment variable

Obviously, the system does not recognize these abbreviations.

Then manually generate these abbreviations.

VI open the. dir_colors file.

1. delete comments.

:%s/#\(.*)\//

2. Delete the term variable

:%s/^TERM .*$//

3. Delete empty rows

:%s/\n\+/\r/

4. Normative Variables

:%s/^\([^ ]\+\) \(.*\)$/\1=\2:/

5. Merge rows

:%s/\n//

6. Delete unnecessary Spaces

:%s/ //

7. Generate Variables

:%s/^\(.*\)$/LS_COLORS=‘\1‘/

Then we can get the variable ls_colors without the abbreviation.

LS_COLORS=‘NORMAL=00:FILE=00:DIR=01;34:LINK=01;36:FIFO=40;33:SOCK=01;35:DOOR=01;35:BLK=40;33;01:CHR=40;33;01:ORPHAN=40;31;01:SETUID=37;41:SETGID=30;43:STICKY_OTHER_WRITABLE=30;42:OTHER_WRITABLE=34;42:STICKY=37;44:EXEC=01;32:.tar=01;31:.tgz=01;31:.arj=01;31:.taz=01;31:.lzh=01;31:.zip=01;31:.z=01;31:.Z=01;31:.gz=01;31:.bz2=01;31:.deb=01;31:.rpm=01;31:.jar=01;31:.jpg=01;35:.jpeg=01;35:.gif=01;35:.bmp=01;35:.pbm=01;35:.pgm=01;35:.ppm=01;35:.tga=01;35:.xbm=01;35:.xpm=01;35:.tif=01;35:.tiff=01;35:.png=01;35:.mov=01;35:.mpg=01;35:.mpeg=01;35:.avi=01;35:.fli=01;35:.gl=01;35:.dl=01;35:.xcf=01;35:.xwd=01;35:.flac=01;35:.mp3=01;35:.mpc=01;35:.ogg=01;35:.wav=01;35:‘

There is only one attempt.

You can directly put it in. bashrc, or put it in a single file (. dir_colors), and then click source.

For example, my

if [ -f $HOME/skyyuan/.dir_colors ];then source $HOME/skyyuan/.dir_colors;fi

The. dir_colors file is the above
