Monotouch development (1): Install Mac OS in win7 + Vmware

The iPhone is getting increasingly popular now, and many Internet applications originally on PCs have launched iPhone clients (such as Ctrip and Sina Weibo ), the best development environment for iPhone is Mac OS + iPhone, which is hard to meet. (Think of a classic network language: the problem that money can solve is not a problem. The problem is that TM has no money)

However, you can use a virtual machine to install Mac OS in a Windows environment (such as win7). The following describes how to install Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard operating system) in VMware ).

1,Prepare for the job. First go online to get down the following software.

A,Vmware7.1 (Virtual Machine Software)
B,Darwin. ISO is about 24.8 M (BOOT disk of the Mac OS system, which cannot be installed without it. After installation, you also need this boot to enter the Mac OS, which can be found on thunder)
C,The DMG file for Mac. OSX. Snow. Leopard. v10.6.2 (snow leopard 10.6) is about 6.13 GB (available on the thunder or apple official website)

2,Install vmwarevm

 

3,Create a freebsd 64-bit virtual machine in the Virtual Machine

Because there is no Mac OS in the OS options of VMware, you can only select the nearest 64-bit FreeBSD and next. Note: The memory must be allocated at least 1 GB, we recommend that you use a hard disk capacity of more than 20 GB (because development tools and system updates will occupy a lot of space). In addition, you can remove the software drive in the hardware configuration (which is useless) and exit VMware after creation.

 

4,Key: After completing the previous step, a file with the suffix vmx will be generated and opened in Notepad. Find the following line.

Guestos = "freebsd-64" to guestos ="Darwin10"

Then restart VMware. Under normal circumstances, check that the VM attributes will automatically change to Mac OS X Server 10.6, as shown in figure

If this step fails, check the previous steps.

 

5,Then, attach Darwin. ISO to the drive of the VM and start the VM.

After the startup, you can see the following interface:

Note: if you cannot boot to this interface normally, you can try to turn off the power of the Virtual Machine and enable it again.

 

6,When the VM is enabled, switch the disc and mount the DMG file to the optical drive.

Method: Right-click the Virtual Machine name --> setting --> Cd/DVD --> use ISO image file --> browse. By default, the DMG file is invisible and the drop-down box is changed to "all files (*)"

Select the DMG file for Mac OS

Note: Check connected!

Click OK. If you are lucky, wait a moment and you will be able to enter the Mac OS installation interface.

We recommend that you install the English version (because monodeveloper and monotouch are both in English, and the Chinese version of the operating system is of little significance). The rest of the things are known to everyone.

 

7,After the installation is complete, remember to re-mount the optical drive back to Darwin. ISO. Otherwise, even if the installation is complete, the system will not be able to boot.

8,Resolution Problems

By default, in the Mac OS preference settings of VMware, the display resolution is only 1024*768, and full screen cannot be played. This is because VMware Tools is not installed. The installation method is as follows:

Click the CD icon in the bottom right corner of VMware, connect it first, and then you will see the CD in Mac OS. Open the CD and you will see "Install VMware Tools. APP ", double-click to install

After the installation is complete, you can switch the resolution at will.

 

Note: In some local versions (such as ThinkPad t61p), the installation interface cannot be entered, and most of them are incompatible, in this case, you can install it on other PC machines by following the above method, copy all the files after the installation to the local file, and directly open it in VMware.

 

9,Other suggestions:

9.1,After the installation is complete, we recommend that you update the system software update first. The update package will be downloaded at least 1 GB.

9.2,Old Joe is very infatuated with his own technology. Shenma flash, Shenma Silverlight and other things are installed by default. Even if you install them manually, it also performs poorly on safari (well known for the reason ). We recommend using Firefox. I personally tested flash and Silverlight in Firefox (the installation method in Mac OS is unique. After downloading, drag the DMG file to the application to complete the process)

9.3,Mono basic tools (such as monodevelop, monotouch), you can download the corresponding Mac OS version on the www.mono-project.com

9.4,Go to http://developer.apple.com/register an account and download the ios sdk, which is about 2 ~ 3G (Mono is only the shell of the development environment, and the SDK is required for real compilation)

9.5,We recommend that you use the old zhao method to put the project file in the host of win7 and share the file in the Virtual Machine (the way to access windows sharing in Mac OS is: Go --> connect to server, then enter SMB: // ip address)
