Sometimes, in order to quickly migrate big data during migration of large data volumes, it is possible to temporarily mount a mobile hard disk in NTFS format on a Linux server. Generally, linux does not recognize NTFS-format mobile hard disks (Linux core needs to be recompiled to mount NTFS partitions). At this time, in order to allow Linux servers to recognize NTFS mobile hard disks, the package of the ntfs-3g (Third Generation Read/Write NTFS Driver) must be installed.

Step 1: unzip the installation NTFS-3G.

Cd ntfs-3g_ntfsprogs-2012.1.15

The installation process is as follows:
./Configure
Make
Make install
After the system will prompt that the installation is successful, the following can be used to achieve the NTFS partition read and write the ntfs-3g.

Step 2: Configure and mount a mobile hard drive in NTFS format

1. Obtain the NTFS partition information first.
Sudo fdisk-l | grep NTFS

[Root @ DB-Server klb] # sudo fdisk-l | grep NTFS
/Dev/sdc1*1 244 1955776 + 7 HPFS/NTFS

2. Set the mount point and run the following command to mount
Mount-t ntfs-3g <NTFS Partition> <Mount Point>

For example, if the NTFS partition information is/dev/sdc1 and the mount point is set to/mnt/usb, you can use
Mount-t ntfs-3g/dev/sdc1/mnt/usb
Or directly use
Ntfs-3g ntfs-3g/dev/sdc1/mnt/usb

3. To enable automatic mounting upon startup, add the following format statement in/etc/fstab:
<NTFS Partition> <Mount Point> ntfs-3g silent, umask = 0, locale = zh_CN.utf8 0 0
In this way, the Chinese file name in the NTFS partition can be displayed.

4. You can use umount to detach a partition.
Umount <NTFS Partition> or umount <Mount Point>
