Free this afternoon, the computer and DSM to clean up the files and information, so want to put a few disks in the computer "map" to the DSM file station, in order to facilitate the removal of data. This "mapping" is through the DSM File Station "load Remote folder" to achieve, as early as the DSM version or 4.** has been successfully used, but do not know is because the correct operation is not recalled or the operation of DSM has changed, today want to use up but has been unsuccessful , the Internet various search queries, spent a whole afternoon to succeed. So I intend to record this setup process and repeat it for the same problem in the future.
In fact, the process is very simple, that is: Open the DSM File station→ click "Tools" → select "Mount remote folder" → Click "cifs shared Folder", it is important to note that it is not "NFS shared folder"! As shown in the following:
Then pop up the following window:
Here are two points to note:
(1) The format of the folder must start with a double backslash, followed by the backslash after the IP address is the drive letter on your Windows, if you want to mount a folder other than the drive but the drive, then the drive letter followed by a specific address, such as: "\ 192.168.1.110\h\ folder a\ folders under folder A B\ folder B under folder C ... ".
(2) The "account name" and "password" in the figure refer to the account number and password you used to login in Windows, not the account password in DSM, remember!
These two points must be strictly according to do, I am these two points did not write to consume me for a long time, also may be I do not know the directory path of things.
Finally click on load, if no accident will prompt the loading success.
This process seems simple, but I was consumed by this for an afternoon time ~ mainly because the first thought is "NFS shared folder" instead of "CIFS", resulting in a hint error, and then always snowball, according to the error prompts the Internet to find a solution, so the farther away.
I hope this can help the same situation as my friends. If there is any mistake or suggestion, hope feel free.
