Mounting the optical drive on a linux Virtual Machine reports & quot; mount: youmustspecifythefilesystemtype & quot; error handling
1. Environment Description
Host OS: Windows 7
Virtual Machine Software: VMware Workstation
Virtual Operating System: linux 6.3 (File System EXT4)
2. Error
[Root @ ol6-single ~] # Mount/dev/cdrom/mnt/cdrom
Mount: you must specify the filesystem type |
3. Cause Analysis
(1) because it is a virtual machine, the first suspect is that the "CD/DVD" in the virtual machine's device is not set, however, check that the "Connection" has a specified ISO file on the Use ISOimage file to exclude this cause.
(2) Check that "Connected" in the Device status of "CD/DVD" is not checked. After this check box is checked (you do not need to restart the virtual machine), the optical drive can be mounted normally.
4. Select "Connected" in Device status of "CD/DVD" and then mount the optical drive.
[Root @ ol6-single ~] # Mount/dev/cdrom/mnt/cdrom
Mount: block device/dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only |
Load holding successful.
