Move the Unity Starter of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS to the bottom of the desktop
The most demanding feature for Ubuntu Linux may be to move the Unity starter to the bottom of the desktop. Marco Trevisan, A Ubuntu Unity developer, recently announced on his Google + homepage that Canonical finally decided to move the Unity 7 starter to the bottom of the desktop using the results of the Ubuntu unicorn team's hard work.
However, Marco Trevisan says that you still need to manually enter the command to move the Unity 7 launcher to the bottom of the desktop. In addition, you first need to install Ubuntu 16.04 LTS updated on April 9, March 19, and then restart the system so that the input command can truly move the Unity 7 starter to the bottom of the desktop.
We do not know whether Canonical will add the option to the bottom of the desktop in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS official or later versions. You do not need to manually enter the command.
Run the following command to move the Unity Starter of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS to the bottom of the desktop:
Gsettings set com. canonical. Unity. Launcher launcher-position Bottom
Restore to the original left-side command:
Gsettings set com. canonical. Unity. Launcher launcher-position Left
