According to foreign media reports, Mozilla started tests on Friday on Fennec, a Mobile Firefox browser used in Windows Mobile 6.0.
Mozilla has previously tested Fennec alpha and beta in Nokia's two Maemo operating system products, N810 and N800. However, these two products have very few users, so Fennec has not attracted much attention.
The Fennec version launched by Mozilla is Fennec Alpha 1 for Windows Mobile 6. It is currently designed for HTC Touch Pro and will be applied to more Mobile phones in the future. The biggest feature of Fennec in this version is the added support for plug-ins. Users can search for the desired plug-ins through the search function.
The user interface of the WM Fennec version is similar to that of the Maemo version. The search box provides search recommendations and displays the user's search history. Shaking the screen to the left will pop up the bookmarking tool and plug-in manager. Shaking the screen to the right will show the tabs in the tab browsing.
For technicians, it is worth noting that this version of Fennec is developed using CSS, which means the software will be able to easily adapt to screens of different sizes and resolutions. Mozilla also said that this version of Fennec uses the same memory management library JeMalloc as Firefox. Such resource sharing shows that Mozilla wants to build a consistent Internet browsing experience on different products.
