MS SQL Basics Tutorial: Connecting and disconnecting servers

You can start by right-clicking the server in Enterprise Manager's SQL Server Group or by selecting the Connect item from the shortcut menu when you right-click on the server you want to start. If you choose to enter the account and password options at SQL Server startup when you register the server (as shown in Figure 5-8), you will be prompted to enter them, as shown in Figure 5-12.

You can disconnect the server by right-clicking on the server you want to disconnect and selecting the "Disconnect" option from the shortcut menu. The server is also automatically disconnected when Enterprise Manager is turned off.
