I. Description

Support for multi-Nic Vmotion starting from the VMware VSphere 5.x release. Multi-network card vmotion that is, VMS in the two ESXi host vmotion migration between the time, the use of multiple physical network cards for VM memory data transfer, speed up the virtual machine vmotion migration. As shown in the network topology diagram:

Most deployment environments currently use a single NIC vmotion, which means that Vmotion's vmkernel is tied to multiple NICs, but because of the Network Load Balancing policy (port-based, source-based MAC address, and so on), only one physical NIC transmits virtual machine memory data.

Second, the configuration

1. Select ESXi host, "Configuration", "Networking", select the properties of the VSWITCH0 standard switch

650) this.width=650; "style=" border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px; "title=" Clip_ image002 "alt=" clip_image002 "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/58/DE/wKioL1S_VjyA_E3nAAKw_T2YLcI227.jpg " Border= "0" height= "456"/>

2. Select "Add"

650) this.width=650; "style=" border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px; "title=" Clip_ image003 "alt=" clip_image003 "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/58/DE/wKioL1S_VsGCr0emAAFvJDee1Mc432.jpg " Border= "0" height= "421"/>

3. Connection type Select "VMkernel"

650) this.width=650; "style=" border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px; "title=" Clip_ image004 "alt=" clip_image004 "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/58/DF/wKioL1S_VsPDEXokAAEvikbHLOc876.jpg " Border= "0" height= "/>"

4. Enter information such as network tag name, VLAN ID, and so on. Multiple NIC vmotion, you need to ensure that multiple vmkernel are in the same network segment.

650) this.width=650; "style=" border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px; "title=" Clip_ image005 "alt=" clip_image005 "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/58/E1/wKiom1S_Vl6j4x5lAAFv4C5cnG4786.jpg " Border= "0" height= "459"/>

5. Enter information such as IP address. Recommended and managed networks belong to different network segments, it is strongly recommended that the Vmotion network segment is a VLAN segment that is not routable

650) this.width=650; "style=" border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px; "title=" Clip_ image006 "alt=" clip_image006 "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/58/E1/wKiom1S_VmGhbpOHAAFPMoM0Wts018.jpg " Border= "0" height= "457"/>

6. Display the information, "Finish" to complete the creation

7. Complete the creation of the first vmotion Vmkernel. Select vMotion-01, then select "Edit"

650) this.width=650; "style=" border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px; "title=" Clip_ image008 "alt=" clip_image008 "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/58/DF/wKioL1S_Vzvx7JDCAAHcYR0yUh8369.jpg " Border= "0" height= "477"/>

8. Switch to "NIC tearming" and tick "Override Switch failover Order"

650) this.width=650; "style=" border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px; "title=" Clip_ image009 "alt=" clip_image009 "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/58/DF/wKioL1S_Vz6RT1shAAHZBQNB-OE467.jpg " Border= "0" height= "588"/>

9. Move the VMNIC1 physical network card to "Standby adapters", that is, vMotion-01 normally use Vmnic0, when the VMNIC0 network card fails, switch to the VMNIC1 physical network card, to achieve the physical network card fault redundancy switch. Then "OK" to save

650) this.width=650; "style=" border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px; "title=" Clip_ image010 "alt=" clip_image010 "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/58/DF/wKioL1S_V0Hy0DyAAAI5cFzOQa0946.jpg " Border= "0" height= "596"/>

10. Repeat the 2-9 steps to create another vmkernel for the vmotion feature.

650) this.width=650; "style=" border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px; "title=" Clip_ image011 "alt=" clip_image011 "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/58/E1/wKiom1S_Vm6SOtveAAIJFM8kTb0782.jpg " Border= "0" height= "513"/>

11. Complete the creation of the second block of the vmotion function of the vmkernel. "Edit" just created the vMotion-02

12. Physical NIC bindings, and vMotion-01 physical NIC active and standby swap locations, as shown in.

650) this.width=650; "style=" border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px; "title=" Clip_ image013 "alt=" clip_image013 "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/58/DF/wKioL1S_V0yRCrJ4AAHloRxva5c355.jpg " Border= "0" height= "552"/>

13. Complete the vmotion configuration of the multi-NIC, as shown in.

650) this.width=650; "style=" border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px; "title=" Clip_ image014 "alt=" clip_image014 "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/58/DF/wKioL1S_V06C81pfAAHAMrBxXtw237.jpg " Border= "0" height= "503"/>
