Pagination is one of the most common functions in browsers. On September 6, October 20, the research company Secunia warned that this feature has security vulnerabilities and may expose users to fraudulent attacks.
Secunia said the vulnerability affects users' browsers such as Mozilla, MozillaFirefox, Netscape, Opera, Camino, Konqueror, AvantBrowser, and Maxthon.
This vulnerability is applicable to the paging browsing function, which enables users to open multiple pages in the same browser window.
According to Secunia, the fault is that some non-active tabs may generate a dialog box even if the user is browsing different web pages in another Tab.
Secunia warned that the browser does not specify which Tab will generate a dialog box, which allows users to disclose information to malicious websites or download and run malicious programs that are believed to be reliable.
Versions of browsers affected by this vulnerability include Mozilla 1.7.3, Mozilla Firefox 0.10.1, Camino0.8, Opera7.54, Konqueror 3.2.2-6, Netscape 7.2, Avant Browser 9.02build101, Avant Browser 10.0 build 029, and Maxthon (MyIE2) 1.1.039.
Secunia's security rating agencies rated these vulnerabilities as medium-risk or mild-Risk Based on browser differences. The company recommends that you do not browse trusted pages when you open a Tab to untrusted pages.
Secunia urges users to release the vulnerability until the vendor resolves the vulnerability.
