Knowing my friends know that every morning from five to eight is my "blog time", unless there is an urgent matter at home, otherwise no one can disturb me to do this homework. I've been blogging since June 2009, and it's been three years now, with 580 articles, more than 500,000 viewers per month, and more than 15 million pairs of eyes on Facebook. Think of actually a bit exaggerated, with one's own power, before and after only spent 3,000 hours of time, and finally can cover such a small scale of media, in this social media revolution, it sounds like a day implausible.
But that is not the focus of today, I would like to talk today, is the three years of blogging career, how to let myself have grown.
Write a blog to help you record your thoughts
The first advantage of blogging is that you can keep track of your thoughts. Especially in this information explosion era, when you absorb so much new knowledge every day, the best way is to use an article to record the feelings, not only will strengthen your memory, but also convenient to back to chew, reference. I often go back to read my previous articles, of course, sometimes feel that the original idea is naïve, but also often found that I actually forget a very valuable point of view. If not written down, then these things are likely to be missing.
Blogging can reinforce your discourse.
Of course, if you just want to write down your thoughts and prepare for the future, that notebook will be solved. But because blogs have to face the world, you are forced to put your thoughts together and publish them. We often say that the best way to get one thing in order is to try to teach it to others. So blogging is your 24-hour online classroom, and when I explain it to readers on my blog, I often learn the true essence of the idea in this process.
Write a blog to help you face customers
Behind closed doors is often a trap that many entrepreneurs fall into, because the process of product development is usually built-in, so a lot of weeks is not in contact with the crowd, which often makes you fall into your own world, forgetting to ask what people's needs are. But if you write a blog, at least have a channel to communicate with the world, so that you can constantly put ideas and plans to discuss with you, reduce the possibility of excessive autism. Discussions with the reader can also train the art of communication and how to persuade potential customers.
Write a blog to help you understand their preferences
In fact, besides being a good conduit for spreading ideas, blogs are a great way to deepen customer preferences. I look at the click-through rate of each article, the intensity of the sharing, the content of the message and the way of browsing, and so on, to help me understand the preferences of entrepreneurs. And entrepreneurs are appworks potential customers, so in the process of running a blog, in addition to my own progress, but also let me closer to my market.
Blogs will give you energy.
In addition to the blog itself, you are attracted to this group of readers, will give you a lot of energy. Good articles, they will help you to share, recommend. Good ideas, they will absorb, into their thoughts, and then spread to others. They will talk to your friends about you, and they will mention you to your boss, and many times the opportunity starts from the middle. Exaggerated, Appworks can come from an idea to today, bred 80 entrepreneurial team, 220 entrepreneurs, but also raised a NT $320 million VC fund, all of the energy behind it, in fact, from a small blog I started to accumulate.
Blogging makes you a part of the community.
Finally, blogging will make you a part of the blogosphere. The blogosphere can be said to be a small community of "network opinion leaders", so being a part of it will bring you many benefits. People in circles, for example, often share the information they don't have. We are also happy to help each other to promote important information at a critical juncture. More than two years ago, when the first Appworks form began to receive, we got the firepower support of important blogs like Inside and Mmdays, and the results of the final collection were much more than we expected.
Written here, I think you should already be able to understand why I insist that no one can disturb my blog time. In fact, to say that it was the most productive three hours of my day, that was not too much. So if you want to be like me and put yourself on the path of growth, I strongly recommend you, starting today, write a blog every day. Believe me, after three years, you'll be glad you made the most important decision of your life today.
My growth discipline: blogging every day
