MySQL forgot password reset

MySQL password forgot, I believe we all know
VIM/ETC/MY.CNF New Line Skip-grant
Restart mysqld;
Mysql-uroot Enter,
Use MySQL;
Update user set password= ' 123 ' where user= ' root ';
Flush privileges;
Restore my.cnf Restart after exiting, still unable to enter MySQL;
I went in again to find that the updated password 123 is stored in clear text,
After query, test discovery should be used like this
Update user set Password=password (' 123 ') where user= ' root ';
Flush privileges;
Then enter SELECT * from User\g, when the password is stored in ciphertext form;
