1. When the MySQL installation package of the msi version is last executed, it will die in step 3 and no response will be returned directly.
This is because MySQL has been installed on the local machine before and is not uninstalled cleanly, because some folders are hidden deeply.
1. uninstall MySql-related components;
2. Delete the installation directory of MySQL;
3. query mysql in the Registry (regedit) and delete all;
Cmd-> regedit
1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ ControlSet001 \ Services \ Eventlog \ Application \ MySQL directory
2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ ControlSet002 \ Services \ Eventlog \ Application \ MySQL directory
3. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ Eventlog \ Application \ MySQL directory
4. Search for mysql on drive C and delete all folders. Here, a MySQL folder is found in C: \ ProgramData, but it does not exist in the root directory of C. I don't know why. Anyway, enter C in the address bar: \ ProgramData find the MySQL folder and delete it;
5. restart the computer and reinstall it. Note: If you do not restart the computer, the Red Cross will appear in step 3 when installing the computer again.
2. If the installation version is too cumbersome, you can directly use the decompressed version of MySQL.
MySQL servers 5.1
1. pressurize the file and place it in any directory. Put it under the drive E: \ MySQL Server 5.1;
2. Modify the my. ini file,
Basedir = E: \ MySQL Server 5.1 (mysql directory)
Datadir = E: \ MySQL Server 5.1 \ data (mysql directory \ data)
3. Configure environment variables to directly add the Path of the bin directory in MySQL to the Path;
4. Run cmd as an administrator (Be sure to run it as an administrator; otherwise, the permissions are insufficient ),
Enter cd E: \ MySQL Server 5.1 \ bin to enter the mysql bin folder.
Enter mysqld-install (if you do not need to run it as an administrator, the following error will occur due to insufficient permissions: Install/Remove of the Service Denied !)
5. Installation successful
6. Enter net start mysql in cmd to start the service.
If Error 2 "the system cannot find the file" is displayed, check whether the configuration file has been modified or whether the file has been operated in the bin directory. If the configuration file is modified correctly and entered the bin folder, you must first Delete mysql (input mysqld-remove) and then reinstall (input mysqld-install );
If error 1067 is displayed, the configuration file is modified incorrectly. Check whether the configuration file is correct.
7. After the service is successfully started, you can log on. Enter mysql-u root-p (no password for the first login, press Enter!
