Currently, the default storage engine of MySQL uses InnoDB, so MyISAM is not officially recommended. We recommend InnoDB. Linux Percona Server XtraDB is also based on InnoDB.

From MySQL 5.5.5, the default MySQL engine has been changed to InnoDB.
