MySQL user logon password and remote logon permission

Source: Internet
Author: User

1. Forget the root user logon password for the mysql database.

The solution is as follows:

A. Reset the password.

#/Etc/init. d/mysqld stop

# Mysqld_safe -- user = mysql -- skip-grant-tables -- skip-networking &

# Mysql-u root mysql

Mysql> UPDATE user SET Password = PASSWORD ('newpassword') where USER = 'root ';

Mysql> flush privileges;

Mysql> quit;

B. Log On with the new password

# Mysql-u root-pnewpassword

2. Remote logon permission

Mysql> grant all privileges on *. * TO 'myuser' @ '%' identified by 'mypassword' with grant option;

Mysql> flush privileges;

The above authorization allows the myuser user to access the mysql server from any machine.

% Represents any client, either localhost or an IP address.
