Nagios Upgrade 3.x to 4.x upgrade

Upgrade Ngios 3.x to 4.x similar to 2.x upgrade to 3.x version

Step 1: First of all, be sure to back up the previous version,

Step 2: Stop the active Nagios service/etc/init.d/nagios stop

Step 3: Download the latest version I'm 4.0.8 here.

[email protected] ~]#wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/nagios/nagios-4.0.8.tar.gz

Step 4: Unzip the installation

[[email protected] ~]# tar-zxvf nagios-4.0.8.tar.gz

[[email protected] ~]# CD nagios-4.0.8

[[email protected] ~]# ./configure--with-command-group=nagcmd

[[email protected] ~]# make all

[[email protected] ~]# make install

Step 5: Verify the Nagios configuration

[email protected] ~]# /usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios-v/usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg

Step 6: Restart Nagios

[[email protected] ~]# /etc/init.d/nagios start

Next, open the Web page to see the new version.
