Navicat connection oracle error: ORA-12737 Instant Client Light: unsupported server character set ZHS16GBK, navicatora-12737
Today I used Navicat to connect to the Oracle database and reported the following error: "ORA-12737 Instant Client Light: unsupported server character set ZHS16GBK"
From this error, we can know that the client does not support server-side character sets, but it is unrealistic to modify server-side character sets. We can only find the cause from the client. We know that Navicat is connected to Oracle using the OCI method, while Navicat 10 Premium I installed uses the OCI Instant Client 10 which does not support character sets other than English, so replace the DLL file of OCI used by Navicat to solve this problem.

My local machine is installed with the full version of the ORACLE Enterprise database, so it contains the DLL files required to connect to the ORACLE client, so in my local ORACLE Directory: D: \ ProgramFiles \ Oracle \ product \ 11.1.0 \ db_1 \ BIN

4. Restart Navicat
After replacing the file, restart Navicat to apply the new version of OCI.
