Procedure for connecting Navicat for Oracle to Oracle at 11 GB
1. Change the Oracle configuration file
After installing Oracle 11g, you need to change the listener. ora and tnsnames. ora files under the C: \ Oracle Installation Base directory \ product \ 11.2.0 \ dbhome_1 \ NETWORK \ ADMIN. Remember to back up the two files first. Then, change localhost in each file to the name of the computer on which the Oracle computer is installed.

2. Install Navicat for Oracle

3. Install the instant client
Download the instantclient-basic-nt-11.2.0.3.0 (for win32) from the Internet and copy its content to the Navicat installation directory; In Navicat's tool> Options> others> OCI, select the content of the OCI library as the oci in the instantclient-basic-nt-11.2.0.3.0. dll; finally, follow the instructions in Navicat to restart Navicat.
4. Configure Navicat
This step begins to connect to the Oracle database. Our ultimate goal is to connect the database with localhost, computer name, and IP address, both locally and remotely, as sys, system, and scott.
4.1 system and scott users
To configure the Connection Properties, you must correctly configure all the three option cards. The following figure shows the correct configuration. Both the "advanced" and "SSH" option cards are configured by default.
