Preparing heterogeneous Ortacle Servers
Add the hosts record for the relevant server.
Install the NBU Client Agent.
Install the same Oracle software version.
Create the same administrator account and password.
Create an Oracle instance with the same name as the source Oracle and the same path.
Close the database (shutdown immedicate).
Delete all files under the database folder.
Get the source Oracle dbid and record (source Oracle Run SQL command: Selectdbid from V$database;).
NBU Server
Add the hosts record for the relevant server.
NBU the installation directory Xxx/db/altnames folder below creates an empty file named No.restrictions (used to allow NBU to do heterogeneous restores).
Locate the control file that needs to be restored and record the control file name (bplist-c source Oracle Client -l-t 4- s 6/13/2011-e6/14/2011-R/).
Start Recovery Recovery Control file
The database is in the Nomout State (Startupnomount).
Log in to Rman run:
Set dbid= source Oracle's dbid
run{
ALLOCATE CHANNEL CH00 TYPE ' Sbt_tape ';
SEND ' nb_ora_serv=NBU Server name , nb_ora_client= Source Oracle Server client name ';
restore Controlfile from ' Control File name ';
}
Recovering a database file
The database is in Mount State (Startupmount).
Log in to Rman run
Run {
ALLOCATE CHANNEL CH00 TYPE ' Sbt_tape ';
SEND ' nb_ora_serv= NBU server name , Nb_ora_client=h Source Oracle Server client name ";
Restore database;
}
Recover archived Logs (if you only need to resume playing a full backup, do not)
Log in to Rman run
Run {
ALLOCATE CHANNEL CH02 TYPE ' Sbt_tape ';
SEND ' nb_ora_serv= NBU server name , Nb_ora_client=h Source Oracle Server client name ";
ESTORE ARCHIVELOG fromsequence Serial Number thread 1 UNTIL SEQUENCE Serial Number ;
RELEASE CHANNEL CH02;
}
Log on to SQL run
Recover Database Untilcancel
Start the database
Log on to SQL run
ALTER DATABASE openresetlogs;
