I. Introduction

Net-tools contains the following programs, which constitute the basis of the Linux network.

Arp is used to operate on the high-speed cache of the core ARP (Address Resolution Protocol). It is usually used to add or delete an entry and dump the ARP high-speed cache. Dnsdomainname displays the system's DNS domain name. Domainname indicates the system's NIS/YP domain name. Hostname is used to set or display the Host Name of the system. Ifconfig is used to configure network interfaces. Nameif name the network interface based on the MAC address. Netstat displays network connection, route list, interface status, virtual connection, and other information. Nisdomainname is the same as domainname. Plipconfig is used to optimize parameters of a PLIP device to speed up the device. Similar to arp commands, rarp processes the RARP (Reverse Address Resolution Protocol) Table of the operating system. Route is used to manage IP route tables. Slattach maps a network interface to a serial line, for example, adding a Common Terminal line to a certain network mode. Ypdomainname is the same as domainname.
