To avoid unnecessary physical effort, bean thought of using remote control software such as pcAnywhere to control the server on the client. However, this is not very practical, because if every client has problems,





Therefore, it is inconvenient to install remote control client software on each client, and security cannot be ensured. Therefore, these third-party remote control software cannot be considered.

Can we use the tools provided by the operating system for remote management? In fact, the solutions to many things are far away and close at hand. Because the school's network is based on the Windows 2003 operating platform, you can use the Web UI (Web User Interface) provided by the server for network maintenance. So what is the Web UI like? I will take the Windows 2003 operating system as an example to see what it can bring to us?

I. Install "undercover"

2. "undercover"

After the installation is complete, perform a small configuration.

1. choose "start"> "Administrative Tools"> "Internet Information Service (IIS) manager" from the operating system menu. In the "Internet Information Service (IIS) manager" window, expand "Local Computer"> "website"> "Administration" in sequence ".

2. Right-click the "Administration" project and choose "properties" from the shortcut menu to open it. In the displayed window, click the "website" tab. In the "ip address" column of the "website ID" area, you can specify an IP address for the website, for example, "171.171.150.110 ".

3. The default TCP port is 8099 and the default SSL port is 8089 ". If these ports are occupied, you can specify an unused port. For example, change the SSL port to "8011 ". All other attributes remain unchanged. Click the default settings and then click OK.

3. Remote "Contact"

Through the above method, the "undercover" on the server end should play its normal function. First, let's see how it works.

Take Windows XP as an example.

Open "Contact"-IE browser, and enter "connector address": "https // 171.171.150.110: 8011" in the address bar. Note: SSL is enabled by default for remote website management, therefore, enter "HTTPS" instead of "HTTP". A verification dialog box is displayed.

4. Test the tool

In the remote management interface, we can see that each management project is very clear, through which we can manage the server without leaving home. Let's just try it.

1. Manage local groups and local users

Open the "user" menu in the menu bar of the management interface. You only need to select the local group or local user option in the displayed dialog box to manage the group or user.

For example, to add a local group, you can click "new" in the right column of the "local group" dialog box.

Follow the prompts to add a local group. If you want to delete a group, you only need to check the check box before the corresponding group and then click "delete.

What should I do if I want to add a user to a group with different management permissions? Select a group name and click "properties" in the column on the right. In the displayed window, select the "member" option in the left column. A dialog box is displayed, select the corresponding object in the "add user or group" list box, and click "add, you can add members to the corresponding group.

2. Remote Desktop Connection

Click "maintenance" on the menu, and click "Remote Desktop" in the displayed window. A logon window is displayed. Enter the Administrator account and password respectively, you can log on to the server desktop, and then you can perform operations as on the desktop of your local computer.

TIPS: to implement Remote Desktop Connection on the client, the Remote Desktop function must be enabled on the server. You can open the system project in the control panel and open the remote tag in the displayed window, select the check box before "allow users to remotely connect to this computer" in the "Remote Desktop" area.
