Network Device purchase is no longer difficult, router knowledge, and literacy

With the increase in network bandwidth and the Development of smart devices, the concept of Iot is no longer unfamiliar. With the increasing number of smart devices such as Smart TVs and tablets, the situation of home networks has become increasingly complex, as a basic device for building a home network environment, the role of a router cannot be ignored. Although network devices are not as fast as smart products such as mobile phones, they are still evolving, due to the low degree of attention, many users still stay at the basic network tool level in the early days. Today, I will give you three knowledge about routers.

1. Mbit/s vro VS 1 Gbit/s vro

Many home users think that as long as the router can ensure smooth network speed, it will choose some cheaper Mbit/s routers, however, with the increasing number of smart devices that can be connected to the internet at home and the increasing bandwidth, the burden on Mbit/s routers is getting heavier and heavier. We know that the Common Unit of network bandwidth is bps, the actual speed of a Mbit/s router is about 10 Mbit/s. According to the 10 Mbit/s bandwidth fiber that is widely used in China, the Mbit/s router is sufficient for a small number of home network devices and common Internet users, for those who are used to using smart routers, there are high requirements for routers, for example, drag videos, streaming media playback, and even streaming games.

In addition, from the perspective of cost effectiveness, with the development of smart routers, the price of Gigabit Routers is greatly reduced. As the M router is an entry-level router, the technology is more mature, many manufacturers can only fight at the price level. Although they can buy a m router for dozens of Yuan, they can buy a smart router around yuan. However, this also leads to poor quality assurance, uneven network signal stability, and good news. However, if you buy a defective product, you will have a headache. Of course, hundreds of megabytes of routers also have hundreds of Yuan of high-end products, but this price can already be bought for a gigabit router.

Therefore, I prefer to purchase a Mbit/s router or a Mbit/s router. After all, the network device update iteration is slow and a vro takes a long time to use, it is necessary to leave room for network bandwidth upgrade in the future. Of course, for users with simple network needs, a low-price M router is also a good choice, and there is no best product in the world, if you make the best of your resources, you are the best choice. blindly pursuing performance leads to performance redundancy, which is too easy to use.

2. built-in antenna VS external Antenna

The antenna problem is also a common problem. The signal quality is good or bad. For users, they will first think of the antenna. Therefore, it is also a selling point that manufacturers emphasize on. Built-in antennas, external antennas, single antennas, dual antennas, three antennas, and so on emerge one after another. First, the performance of external antennas and built-in antennas is not much different. The quality is mainly dependent on the work of manufacturers. When selecting a router, you don't have to worry about the built-in antenna and the external antenna. The signal strength problem is caused by many aspects, not just by the built-in and external antennas.

Next, let's talk about the influence of the number of antennas on the signal. First, we need to acknowledge that the antenna does affect the signal quality. The antenna gain of the home wireless router is generally 7-12 dB, and the number of antennas varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, new technologies (such as smart antennas) and even soil methods (adding an arc-shaped cans) can increase the antenna gain, but only increase the transmission distance. The second is in terms of the Protocol. Currently, the most widely used protocol is 11n. Currently, the latest protocol is 11ac, which is also the main protocol used by routers in the present and future. An antenna can support up to 54 Mbps for an old-fashioned wireless router that supports up to 11g protocol, and a half-old non-new wireless router that supports up to 11n protocol can support up to 150 Mbps; for a new wireless router that supports up to 11ac, an antenna supports up to 433 Mbps. We can see that the number of router antennas depends mainly on the transmission rate of the router itself. The more antennas, the better the signal.

Iii. 2g and 5g vsbands

If you are not familiar with the signal frequency band, at first glance, it is easy to think that 5G is a 2G 3G 4G innovative product, just like 2G 3G 4G in mobile communication, in fact, 2G and 5G of a wireless router are two frequency bands, while 2G (Generation) and 3G of mobile phone communication refer to the first Generation of communication technology. Therefore, there is no difference in transmission speed between the two vrouters. They are more like two lanes and do not affect each other.

So why do we need to launch 5g frequencies? This is mainly to reduce interference. We know that in Wi-Fi transmission, signal interference is a problem that cannot be ignored. People usually use computers, microwave ovens, and other electronic devices in the 2.4G band, the 2.4G band has a maximum of 11 channels. Compared with 2.5 Gbit/s, 5 Gbit/s has fewer devices, and the number of channels in 5 Gbit/s is several times that in the 2 Gbit/s. If you are a little concerned about the vro, you will find that most of the vrouters launched this year support dual-band routers in both the 2G and 5g frequencies. Many readers may be confused here. Since the 5G band is good, why do we need to retain the 2G band? This is because the shortcomings of the 5G frequency band are also obvious. First, there are few devices that support the 5G frequency band, and many mobile phones only support the 2G frequency band. Secondly, the actual Wall-crossing effect is affected by the technical level, 5G is not as good as 2g, which is not difficult to explain why new products of router manufacturers adopt dual-band design.
